it's not so much trying to keep my warranty as much as trying to keep the electricity on and child support out on time. but i should start using the warranty keeping as my excuse, it sounds better
sounds good, i'll talk to my buddy today and let you guys know a bit later if we can definately make it or not

Dex i love that i can see your hair in the pic.
So i just got back from mitsu with dex and paul and the x IS nicer then expected but not for $38k, oh and that is sticker which they admitted they charge more then.
Some things i really liked:
The new shift knob
The seats, definitely more supportive but uglier. Not great for larger guys (i.e. me)
battery in the trunk
Stock stance
Huge brakes
Things i didnt like:
Everything in the engine bay
Peanut trunk (omg small) and...
The extremely heavy trunk. Thats right, it needs struts to hold it up.
the aero kit - might as well install truck side steps. The side skirts come out so far they look like steps
Price, of course.

Not to start a debate or arguement:
Just curious, but what didn't you like about "everything in the engine bay" ????
As for the trunk, ours are assisted via the tensioning rods that run horizontally under the shelf. And with past vehicles, the struts add tension when opening/closing. So it will seem 'heavier'...I can;t see the trunk and spoiler being that much heavier than the VII-IX trunk lids. Perhaps a little more weight, but nothing major or drastic.
So base price was about $33,680.00 (+/- or so) + $2k for SSS + $2k for Aero = $38k. As it was, my '03 VIII stickered for $31,995.00 and now 5 years later base price is under $34k. This is great. Overall, look how much better built the X really is. Aside from personal feelings for the 4G63 driveline, which I love, this new 4B11 is not going to be a slouch. I see great things for us with this new platform and drivetrain. I have been loving the Evo's since the IV. The future Evos will impress me everytime they introduce new technology and new chassis's. I was very impressed when the IX came out, and even more so when they were responding the way they did to mods and tuning

Dex, looks like a blast man....you've got wonderful control...on the rock hair, I mean, the driving's not too shabby either.
Tim, I do think I'm ready for a change but it's such a crappy financial decision that I know I shouldn't do it..... hence staying away.

Yeah, I'm sorry...no Mitsu should ever deserve a markup.... jeez, they rarely deserve MSRP.
I'd consider dropping $32k on one, with HIDs, which is like $5k more than i spent on mine.
I didnt like the ugly engine cover, the way they mounted the turbo in the back (more accessible then expected but still a pita, the long *** intercooler pipe running across the engine bay. It was very crowded. I am not huge on the hood either. I will admit, i am into the new motor design. I think from a technical standpoint they made a lot of really great upgrades but i am interested to see how it pans out.
I still have my heart set that this will be the begining of yet another great series of Evolutions
