that was by far the longest garage day!!!

 

I can see that dave didn't want a garage day number two.

What was the verdict on getting out that broken bolt?

 

They'll be another garage day...we owe Marshall some serious man-hours to get the manifold/hotside/O2 housing setup properly...

We had some interested FPR issues, though...

Just wanted to give a huge thanks to Dave for his garage, loads of help, hospitality, endless trips to Sears, etc. And of course to Turco, Greg (Steve), Paul, and anyone else who helped, and Dex for his support.

We set out to get the new O2 housing, FPR, & boost controller. O2 is in, just with a broken bolt still in the turbo, so only 4 bolts holding it in. FPR is in, and is finally leak free. I forgot that one fitting was not tight, and after fixing that, two other fittings (that were tight) decided to leak as well. But that is all set now. And the boost controller is installed, just not finished, as I still need to run it into the cabin. Not a big deal though. Ran the car today, no fuel leaks, boost is at 21-22 (need to tune!), and the O2 housing is holding up even minus a bolt.

Still to do: take off the exhaust manifold, O2 housing, and at least the hot side; remove the broken bolt in the turbo (or just replace it with a 42R), replace gaskets, re-install, and drive it on. Certainly a good days work (or maybe two!).

All is well though...

Marshall it is good to hear the car is at least driveable. Sounds like extracting the bolt didnt go well. We will need to spend some time removing everything and hopefully getting everything put together nicely. Let me know i will try to plan to stay for longer and get it done.

Dave thanks for putting together the garage day. It is rare to find people willing to let you pull your car apart on their property
