I wanna learn fiberglass too but have never gotten around to it. I plan on practicing on some spare panels I have lying around and see how it works out...

Hmm what sort of credibility does that guy have? Plenty of the big name powerhouses have advocated head studs using the 1x1 method.

When my bike is ready, I will definitely hit you up. I love rippin around Boston on the bike. Its more fun than most people think. Back in the day behind Fenway/in front of TequilaRain we used to gather there with some of our friends from Boston. Sometimes 50+/- bikes causing a rukkus through the city
Here is a clip of the team I used to be on. We have a DVD but this is all I could find right now. It was a clip someone put together, and not everyone on the team is in the clip

edit:If you have ever seen the Godsmack video for their song "Speak" 5 of the team members were invited to ride in for making the video. My friend Brian who managed our team is very close friends with the lead singer Sully.

I dont think he is knocking the 1x1 method, i think he is saying the normal ARPs are no better, or barely better, than the stock bolts so by changing to them using the 1x1 method you are just disturbing the headgasket.

While i cannot backup his knowledge i think he is one of the more experienced guys on the forums.

If you can fab up the HVAC relocation i think the JDM double din is decently cheap.

dexter, i think we can fab the top piece off of the existing insert. simply cut out the 2 din hole and build back the rest of the structure.

for the bottom, i'm thinking just take the existing piece, and solder (is that the rigth word for plastic adhesion?) in a flat plate and dremel otu the holes for the hvac stuff.

assuming they look good, paint and install!

worst case i buy two inserts from mitsu and unsuccessfully destroy them

from what i've seen, never take a factory block apart if you don't have to. it just leads to trouble. my interpretation is that the factory does a really good job and unless you MUST crack the thing apart, don't do it. ie- don't just install head studs for ****engiggles....

official site:
http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/embedded/artigo/

ytube vid:

online retailers:
(300) http://shop3.frys.com/product/547751...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG
(350) http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=43

that kit is fully functional minus RAM and a HDD. for HDD i'm thinking compactflash SSD setup for OS and USB HDD for data...

EDIT: power supply is the only looming issue...

EDIT EDIT: in fact i'm REALLY close to just ordering it to play with...

Actually I was down there with a couple buddies of mine on the sunday of memorial weekend, it was dead but otherwise there were a couple guys there. I was hearing stories about the number of riders that go down there.

Normal ARP is def better than stockers. Most of the guys make 500-750hp are running regular arp headstuds. I have seen 980 made on ARP headstuds.
Don't believe the hype

JDM bezel can be purchased for around $150ish, looks better than the orbital too!!

if you are doing cams.... do headstuds. I have seen 1x1 method done probably 1000 times literally and have had no ill effects
