State College/ Centre PA Evos!
State College/ Centre PA Evos!
I've come to realize that theres actually a good handful of evos in the State College PA area, at least one of each color, and thought it would be fun to get everyone together for a meet and cruise. Sometime in the last week of august. Feel free to IM me if you're interested, or post up on this board. !!
darn... not this coming weekend, the weekend of the 24th? and any other weekend after that haha. I know theres a few, but i only know the guy who has a silver IX, we both go to school there thats why we can't make a meet until late august. If you're going to be around then let me know!!

There really isnt a tuner scene in State College, just people who own the cars and cruise around and stuff. There isnt to many real bad *** cars that I have seen there. There isnt any shops or stuff like that, I was born and raised in the Altoona / State College Area. Your in a rural area so more domestics and stuff like that......
Its a nice town and a lot of fun, the atmosphere is awesome there for college football. But its def. not a big town or real urban, you drive 10 miles either way from State College your in farming country. PSU is a good choice though
If you have a garage then I would say your car will be fine......

i didn't have a garage and my car is still kicking. tuner scene is nonexistant. Alot, and i mean A LOT of really ugly things that wouldn't even make it in a fast and furious movie... And alot of stupid people that go speeding down the street of downtown college areas.. He's right, there really isn't any shops. so work is done by yourself or people you know. Theres a few evos... about 6... one in everycolor .. two black ones i think. Theres a supra or two, a few 300ZXs, a 240sx that has a skyline body on it.... and a couple RX7s...S2ks and about a dozen STis.... They don't really all meet up though. The supra and the RX7s meet up downtown at nights with some really weird american muscle... camero with pink underglows.....
But other than that most of the tuners don't know each other. Another evo owner and I have been trying to hunt down the rest of the evo guys/girls and try to get to know one another. Its a great place. There are some very nice driving roads. Especially up the mountains at night if you have the right tires.
Bring the evo up, we'll take care of you haha.

I lived in SC for four years while working for PSU. (Bought my Evo in April '03 from Shields on West College. Great buying experience...horrible service).
Great area for backroad driving at high (but legal) speeds.
There used to be a nice car club that would meet in the BJC parking lot when the weather was solid. I used to see them when I was leaving my office after late nights on the phone.
There was only one other Evo in the area when I first got mine. He was somehow related to the owner of Five Star Suzuki (son maybe?). Blew up his motor fairly quickly while doing some racing. Buschur built him a new block/head soon after. Don't know if he's still around SC or this board but his name on evom was something like Metaphysical.

Very cool. Thank you guys. How are the cops in terms of exhaust? Are tints legal? They are not in Illinois, although i have them... haha. Thank you guys, this helps my decision a lot.

the cops are more worried about drunken teens... a few deaths involving drunken drivers in the past year... at 3am or so on friday and sats they have stops set up on the main roads to check for drunken drivers. I use to work for the cops there, they are pretty cool, unless you're speeding, and i mean booking it, they don't really care. Exhaust wise, i'd say go with something not so loud just to be on the safe side, but they really dont care. I'm running a tanabe ultra medallion, which is under 95db, so won't expect any probs at all
