Best tuner for cam installation in the NYC Tri-state area?
I need to have a set of cams and an I/C installed with a tune, and I can't decide who to go to:
1. Turbotrix - they did my clutch, great job, good shop, descent prices
2. ICS Performance/Al tuning - they did some brake work for me and overcharged me, so I'm a little skeptical
3. The Shop/Junior tuning - never been before, but prices sound reasonable
4. Sean Ivey - never been before, but their package install + tune pricing is competitive
This isn't a bash forum, I want opinions of people that have gotten their cams installed and tuned at these shops and how they felt about their entire experience (including cost!!) Which shop has a good lounge area as I "work from home" and get my car tuned? Distance is a priority, I live in Stamford, CT and I work in Tarrytown, NY. . .so I can't do CMDB or those other tuners in upstate CT or PA. . .
Thanks!

I did my work at The Shop in CT...
very professional and they know the Evos inside out... you will be able to see your car while is worked on, can ask questions and learn stuff yourself.
Especially for the last part some people have a problem with that, either because they get annoyed by the customer or because they think that by explaining to you what they do, you will "steal" their knowledge and do yourself... pathetic at least...
Also they wont put you at a waiting area sitting down and trying to make you spend more money like the dealerships do!
Marlon whos usually the one who work son the Evos (hes an highly modified Evo oenwer himself) can do a car with one hand...!!!
Jimmy the owner, is by far the best in customer relationship and care and he can really talk to you step by step on what is going on with the car...
i am conducting business with them for a long time and they never made me feel unconfortable...
as far as the tune is concerned, i havent dealt with Junior yet, but i know he is one of the tuners to use when tuning Evos...
By no means i am bashing the other shops. i dont have any experience with them so i cant say anything. i only speak for what i know...

Honestly man I think you can do them yourself. I never did cams before my HKS 272s but I just took the better part of a day and my buddy and I did them in his garage at his house. It is fun to.
If I had the time, I'd attempt to do the cams on my own, but since I need a tune afterwards, especially after GSC S1's, I'd rather get it done in one felt swoop!
I'm leaning towards The Shop because of customer service and location (real close to me), but then the tuners in NJ like Ivey and TT are tempting because of their reputation. . .
Any more suggestions are welcome, thanks guys. . .

Was at Sean Ivey's new shop over the weekend, very clean shop. They were actually doing a cam install on customers car and he was getting a tune after, from what I seen they were doing a good job. I have done 2 cam installs myself so I am know what to look for. As far as tuning goes, you can't go wrong with Sean Ivey.
On the other hand I been to the Shop to, Jimmy is a really nice guy and they do great work too, you will not be disappointed.
