Maine Forest Rally, August 1-2
The Maine Forest Rally is coming up, August 1-2. It is based near Sunday River Ski Resort/Rumford Maine.
This is one of North America's largest and most popular rally races.
Team Mitsubishi Motor Sports America will be there with our two Open Class Evo VIII's. Check out www.vtcar.com for photos and info on the team. The team is leading the championship this year and has won 4 out of 5 events thus far.
We would like to see if there is any interest from you guys to set up a meet before the rally at a local Mitsubishi dealership where you can check out the Evo VIII rally cars, meet the team and get some free stuff (posters etc..). Plus show off your own cars. We are thinking afternoon/evening of Thursday, July 31.
We may do this in Portland, Maine if there is enough interest. Or find a spot in Rumford/Sunday River.

Yep, I already posted about it here.
But yeah, it's about an hour and 40 minutes from me, I went to the winter version and it was awesome. I've got some friends from Focaljet coming up for it, my roommate agreed and anyone that wants to come up Thursday is more than welcome to crash at our place in Windham (about 20 minutes west of Portland). That would bring you close to Rumford on Friday.
I got my car at Pape in South Portland, which I'm assuming is the dealer you are refering to, I would be interested, but I think there are only 3-4 EVO owners in the State right now. I'll post on NASIOC and Focaljet and see if we can get more folks up here sooner.

Be a guest of the Mitsubishi Rally Team!
Team Mitsubishi Motor Sports America invites you to the Maine Forest Rally event worker/competitor pizza party as a guest of Team.
This will take place in the Ames parking lot on Rt2 in Rumford, Maine between 8pm and 10:30pm Friday, August 1st.
The Ames parking lot will be the location of our friday night service area. The team cars as well as other competing rally cars will be in the parking lot for the friday night service. The rally begins friday afternoon, so you can watch some rally action first then stop by the service area for the pizza party.
If you come to the pizza party you will get an up close view of both Team Mitsubishi Motor Sports America's cars as they get serviced under the team tents.
You will get to meet the drivers and the team and of course get an up close view of the Open Class Evo 8 rally cars. The drivers will be signing posters and hero-cards and we will give away a team t-shirt signed by everyone on the team.
The pizza is free of course!
