NJ EVO OWNERS!!! Need help with a ticket question!!
I got pulled over today and I couldn't find my insurance card and got a ticket and have to go to court in 2 weeks. I found the damn thing 5 minutes after the cop left.
Anyways when I go to court and show them I have had and still do have insurance do I still have to pay anything?
Thanx for your help!

Sorry to read about your ticket. I would get a fax or some type of written documentation (maybe the dec page) stating that you did have insurance coverage when you were pulled over. The insurance card is helpful, but I think something official from your insurance company has more clout. With police it seems you are guilty until proven innocent, so get whatever you can to bolster your position...and yes, they will make you pay for some type of bs "court fee" or "pleading down" the charge I imagine. Good luck w/it.

Re: ticket question
I was cited for the exact thing in Ocean County, NJ a few years ago. I just showed up to court on the date listed on the ticket with my proof of insurance card (dated before the ticket of course) and showed that to the judge. I paid no fine EXCEPT for a $36 "court fee". They will get you one way or another!

33$ court cost or nothing depending on the prosecutor
