I dont live in rhode island but I live on the CT/RI border. I just picked up my evo today from riverside mitsubishi in auburn mass. Where did you get your evo from? It would be cool to organize some type of meet in the neer future with other evo owners in the area. How does this sound to you?

Hey fellas,

I live in North Attleboro. I got mine from Boch...

Did Vachon still have a markup when you got yours?

Do you guys have the decel noise? That's the only thing that bugs me about this car... Also, I'm paranoid that my car isn't making full boost sometimes. For example it feels really fast sometimes and other times not. Mostly it's weather related, car doesn't like hot and humid days.

Anyway, you guys have any mods or plans for mods? I'm looking forward to a slight power increase, either Vishnu or Works products. I'm not gonna touch the rest of the car, I like it the way it is, heh.

Take care,

Cool,

Good deal. I stopped by there several months back (it's right near my house) and they had a $3k markup at first, then I went back again and the salesguy mentioned they would do $1500 over msrp

I didn't actually sit down with them, and probably would have negotiated a better price.

As for exhaust, I'm looking for something fairly quiet, maybe Vishnu or maybe even just the Exhale. I think the Buschur will make good power, but I think it's pretty loud. I had a loud *** Integra before, so I need a little more stealth, hehe. I had a Forge exhaust on my A4 1.8T and sounded pretty good. Deep and not too loud. Actually, it was almost too quiet.

Anyway, this car is great, and with a touch more power I think it will serve well.

Take care,

Hey again guys,

Hey china, how do you like the SAFCII? I had a VAFC in my Integra GSR and really liked it. I installed a mech boost gauge and Hallman in my EVO. Car is great, but I know a catback and SAFCII will really uncork more power and improve gas mileage. I'm barely getting 20 mpg.

I saw on your details page you have the FIelds harness, so does this make it easy to revert to stock? Where did you get the Fields and SAFC?

Unfortunately, I will have to wait to get the SAFC for awhile (until I can sneak the purchase by my pregnant wife )

Anyway, I'm hoping to get the SAFCII (xmas?), then maybe a catback next spring.

On a side note, are you guys getting all seasons or snow tires for
the winter? That's another thing I have to sneak in there, lol. Considering the 5Zigen wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I don't want dedicated snow tires although I acknowledge that in actual snow they are much better. A/S should be fine in all but extreme cases (esp since I'm on the South Shore).

Sorry for the rambling post, I tend to do that.

Take care,

Berkel, everything install with no issue. With the harness, it just like PnP (Plug and Play). I can disconnect the SAFC 2 easily and transform back to stock.

Actually, I just got the SAFC 2 installed last week. I haven't have too much time to mess with it. From my understanding, improving gas mileage will be minimal or not at all. Basically, Evo SAFC setup will not lean out fuel until higher RPM. If you lean out fuel too early, you will find your car accelerate like ****. I learned it by leaning out the fuel too early.

I got my SAFC from Ebay. Harness is a compliment from yycools. I have my harness on order from Adam at Z1. Once my harness is due in, which is next week, I will have to return to yycools.

Check out the private sale, limited SAFC 2 for 305 shipped. Grab it while they still in stock.

Good stuff,

Thanks for the reply. I think the SAFC will really help on the top-end where the car runs outrageously rich (<10:1!!!). I will try a base map copying someone with similar mods, but I'd really like to fine-tune it on a dyno.

My mileage has actually improved steadily now that I'm out of breakin. Hopefully it will continue since I just did my first oil change (Mobil 1 10W 30 w/ oem filter). I also changed the tranny and front diff to redline MT90 and NEO RHD respectively.

I just got home and I received my NEO RHD for the rear diff as well. There was a lot of magnetic residue on the plugs, and it feels much better shifting now. I would recommend an early fluid change, then maybe again at 15K or whatever...

I also have the decel noise and the fluid change helped "a little bit."

Take care,

Berkel,

Where can I get the diff gear oil NEO RHD? I know I can get redline MT90 locally. If you know any good place to purchase, PM me.

Thanks.

Well I donno if you guys know this, but vachon mitsubishi is actually a RMR dealer. You can order RMR stuff from them and have them install it. I'm assumming they are pretty good with letting you keep your warranty with RMR mods too.

Hey guys,

Wow, that's cool about Vachon, they are about 3 miles from my house, heh.

As for NEO RHD, I got it from bakers precision:

I love this stuff, although it's a little spendy.
