James,

Long time no see man, how they treating you out there in NY? How's the beast comming along, I'm surprised you would drive that monster in the snow.

Anyway, if you drive your car in the winter time there are only a few things you can do to protect it. Mudflaps are a great idea, I'm running a set now, but I still get stuff all over the side of my car, just the nature of our cars I guess. But I'm also running some big heavy Porsche rims with Dunlop Wintersport M3 tires and they are awesome for getting through the snow. Unstoppable.

As far as the rest goes, make sure you run some good floor mats in your car, salt and crap tears up your carpet, I learned that the hard way my first winter with a nice car. And as far as washing goes, I take my car to a touchless car wash a few days after any big storm with lots of salt and crap and make sure I get the undercarrage wash. Cost like $9.00 but it's worth it.

Anyway man, I hope your New Year was great, I plan on doing all sorts of differnt racing this spring/summer...have a ton of leave built up so I'll be in Vermont & New Hampshire doing some hill climbs and some road track racing. Think I'm going to even try to make it down to Watkins Glen...who knows.

Hope to see you around bro,

Best thing you do if you plan to drive the car in crap is make sure its clayed and either seal it and top with a quality wax.
Regular washing is important(not the cloth spinning ones)- if you can tolerate it handwashing is probably best after the initial detail. Be careful with touchless washes, they can be tough on the protection on the car plus they can force water into seams of panels.

Sending you PM
