Att: Evo 8 owners in the Philly area
Att: Evo 8 owners in the Philly area
I need some assistance from a Philly area Evo 8 owner (preferably an '03) who would be willing to stop by VAC Motorsports and allow them to take some measurements of your floor pan. VAC is willing to custom fab fixed-back floor-mount race seat adapters, but need measurements for non-BMW requests.
I'm interested in having VAC CNC some custom seat adaptors for my Evo 8, but I'm up in the Albany NY area. According to VAC, it'll take a couple of hours, and seeing I'm about 6 hours from Philly, I'm hoping someone with an Evo 8 could help me out.
I'm guessing VAC would need to remove the stock seats to get their measurements (I'll get more details shortly). Once they get measurements, they can build these adapters for the entire Evo 8 community. I'm in the process of putting a cage in my '03 Evo and want to drop some Racetech 4009W seats in as part of the build.
VAC is located at 2501 Snyder Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19145. Directions to their location can be found here: http://www.vacmotorsports.com/contact.php. If you're willing to help out or have questions, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi Ryan -
K1tt3n5 has stepped back in and I'm going to talk with him tomorrow evening. If we can't line things up you'll be my next chat. I'm also waiting to hear back from another EvoM member who has mounted these seats before - but the poor guy is down with the flu currently. Thanks!

Yes, thanks to everyone who has volunteered. The guy who does the measurements at VAC was out this week, so I'll be calling him Monday to ask some final questions before asking someone to visit them.
I spoke to Steve Bailey at VAC today. They want the car for the day. He said they've had many inquiries about their brackets and have been trying to get an Evo to come in for measurements for the last 3 months, but no one has stepped up. I'm just tying up some loose ends with this initiative...
Once they have the measurements, they'll be offering these brackets to the Evo community.

Still looking for someone to help me out on this. Because of time commitments with my cage build, the sooner the better. I've gotten confirmation that the Evo 8 & 9 share the same floor pan, so it doesn't have to be an 8 for this. I'm willing to pay someone $50 after they've completed the visit. I know it isn't much, but I'm about tapped out after all the safety equipment purchases.
If you're serious about helping me out, please contact me at EJEvo8@Gmail.com.
Thanks!

I would love to help you, but it sucsk they aren't open Saturdays. It also sucks they need it for the whole day becasue mine is a dd. DO you know how much they are charging for a set though? I would be iinterested if it's relatively cheap!
Guess who spent the day at VAC Motorsports today? What a great group of folks. They are working on some interesting parts for the STI and are looking to investigate items for the Evo.
