Road Courses Near the Tri-State Area?

Are there any road courses anywhere near the tri-state area that I could take the EVO to? I know they are building one (almost done??) at Raceway Park, but its not open yet.

I'm gonna look too. I think it'd be a lot of fun once (read: if) I get my car running properly. At the moment though I don't know anything closer than BeaveRun...which is about 7 hours from here near Pittsburgh.

We didnt go to limerock, it was the SQC guys who organized it and invited us. However, we are looking to organize an event there.

Thanks for the link. It would be cool to have the northeast EVO/Lancer owners rent the track for a weekend.

It looks like its also a car country club! $6,995 deposit and $1,000 annual fee to get to use the track quite a bit. I read about one that was trying to get started (I think in easter pa), but there was a lot of local opposition.

So far I've found PIR and NHIS. Haven't gotten to see if they have open or private track use available.

Few links to look through there.

I've heard BeaveRun is quite fun. A friend of mine lives out there and had a Neon track day out there. Anyway, I'll keep looking in my free time and let you know if I find anything else.

Andrew. No problem at all. Two heads are better than one. That and I'm stuck on the internet 80% of the day during the week.

I think that I can help with this. Please see Dale's Track Schedule http://vista.pca.org/jsr/jsrpca/dales.htm. This is the schedule for the Northeast for this past year and it will be updated for next year. Most PCA (Porsche Club) regions will not allow non-Porsches to run. Most of the other groups will allow any vehicle. The typical format for these clubs will give you about 1.5 hours of on track time a day. An instructor will sit in the passenger seat of your car unless you are advanced.

SCDA (www.scda1.com) is a great place for track days. They are a performance driving school (i.e. non competitive) and they rent out Lime Rock, NHIS, and Watkins Glen once or twice a month and it costs under $200. You can bring your own car and they provide an instructor if you are a newbie. You end up with about 100-120 minutes of seat time, depending on how many people attend the event. I raced my evo at NHIS twice this summer and it was a blast. I got to drive with M3s, S2000s, Lotuses, Porches, and more.

The downside is that Friday is the last event of the season and it is sold out. Look for them come spring time.
