Safe MA Dealer to take the Evo to

Gotta vent a little bit

Based on phone conversations with 2 different service departments at two different dealers I've decided I'm not letting anyone anywhere near my car. Everyone wants me to leave the car at the service department all day, even if I schedule out weeks in advance. All I wanted was the lastest flash and simple, cheap trim piece replaced under warranty. No ****ing Way am I leaving my car with a dealer for a full day just for something simple like that.

What really torques me is I couldn't even get anyone to order the simple, cheap trim part ahead of the warranty visit - an exterior door belt trim piece for $40. It is freakin weatherstripping. Its on the outside and clearly broken. They won't accept a pic of the broken part and naturally they don't have it in stock. I've got to go in so they can say "yup yur right its dun broke right der, gotta order it, will take 2 weeks!" . I ended up just buying the damn part online and installing myself. $40 out of pocket vs. two separate trips to the dealer. I'll eat the $40....

As far as the flash goes I simply give up. I'm just going to get a Cobb AP and blow off the factory reflash. I'm on the original 2008 tune

Anyway.... sorry just really irritated. Eventually I'm going to have to get some work done. Can anyone be trusted inside 495? Does everyone ignore the useless dealers and just do DSG for everything?

Thanks for the reply. I was guessing someone would say Walpole, I've heard at least one other thumbs up for them in the past.

I know what you are saying about Evo parts, but the part was the exterior window weatherstripping where the door meets the window. Its a shared part with all Lancers (except the MR which has a chrome detail).

Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

Yeah, I am in RI and have run into the same issues. Aside from warranty issues like yours/trim piece needing replacement, I have found a shop in Sterling called ESP. They work on tons, I mean tons, of X's, subies, and other Mitsu's. Since I am over going to the dealer for just about everything, I am just getting all my servicing done there. PM me if your interested in these guys, I can give you a name and number.

The trim I did already myself, along with the relays and I checked the fuel line. I still need a tune. The car runs fine but sort of enemic given what it is capable of. So no, not urgent. Keep me posted when it opens

We are supposed to get all our licenses by mid-September and be officially opened by October 1st. I will let you know when I get things set in stone though.

Don't sweat the typical X recalls...like Nikki said, if you don't mind the ride to RI...I know a good dealership that will take care of you...complete with a coupke of enthusiasts running the show
