just saw this... 8 hr drive from nj...whew..

has anyone over made this trip, and lived to tell abou it ...

...if we had some people down..i wouldn't mind gettin away from east coast for a while and goin out there

what yall think?

 

im gonna head out there this year, i think a mass drive would be fun

 

yea, thats whats up... i think if few people head there i'd b with that for reallzz....

bring some jacks ..tools.... and singles for the strip clubs

 

I've driven there and back 2x in my 2G, made it there and back both times and ran 11's at Norwalk, and destroyed a Cobalt SS Turbo in Cleveland after leaving the Shootout with the plate "8URDSM"

It's worth every hour I spent driving, and every dollar I spend every single time. It's like what you mod your car for the whole year man...to rip at The Shootout!

Not to mention the night before at the hotels is insane. I got free beer from a DSM Tap built into a bed cap of like an S10 with Quebecians standing by...pretty epic

 

this will be my 4th trip to the shootout this year. 8 hour drive is correct. i leave Thursday around 4pm/6pm. i get there friday morning. sleep a little and then either go to buschurs to hang and or go to cedar point. its like 6 flags but better. then sat/sun events and i leave sun after the racing is over.

 

sounds like you both had a blast.... yall going up on your own? or with a few other cars

 

depends when everyone wants to leave. if we can work something out then ill go as a group.

 

oh..i mean if you normally roll solo i'm not going to cut into your groove at all ... i'm just tryin to get a feel for if people normally go down in group or solo...

i never been so i know for sure if i had to go alone im not drivin 8 hours..i prob wont go

 

I went last year for the first time and brought my car! It was definetly one of the best weekends in my life! We left Friday mid day (suburb of Chicago) and got out there in 5 1/2-6 hours! I trailered my car but still cruised with some people and the drive out there was a blast. Saturday morning went to the Buschur open house! then later in the afternoon went to Cedar point Sunday was race day then left after that. Def a great time, I would encourage everyone who has the chance to go!

i normally book my room in April/May. best westarn is where i stay. nice place. great late light parties and fun. there are 3 major hotels all next to each other we walk to to check out there parties.

 

oh thats whats up... is there a doubletree next to it by any chance... or hilton
