Why do the camber plates not adjust wheel well to wheel well straight across

They go slanted just wondering what the purpose is for this and correct way to install them? Lowest side closest to the engine or lowest side to the outside of the car

This may be because the top camber plates are on the wrong sides of the vehicle.

No that's not why if you switch the camber plates it would just switch the way the it's crooked .it still would not be straight. Although it does give you - or + caster And toe depending on how the lines are while adjusting camber.
