NorthEast Rally... Let the shenanigans begin!!
As some of you know, I love participating in road rallies/poker runs. Some friends of mine from B&L Productions, the group that puts on YuppieRally & Boston Cars & Copters, have organized a 3 day, 1500 mile poker run style road rally to benefit the Boys & Girls Club...
When: August 17-19
Where: Starts at Driven Perfection in Weymouth MA, and goes all over the Northeast...
Who: Well I know I'm in, as are quite a few of my other road rally friends. You will see Subarus, audis, miatas, mustangs, possibly some evos (Not sure if our rally car will make an appearance this year or not), and who knows what else...
How Much: The price is $800/car, or $400/person depending on how you look at it..
Why: Why not!? Its a great event, it benefits charity, and these things are ALWAYS a blast...

I know quite a few people will say wow this is expensive... But in reality, its not... Two nice hotel rooms are $300.. Then you will be provided some meals, other surprises along the way, and are making a nice donation to charity.. Its actually a great way to spend a weekend that I guarantee you will remember for the rest of your life.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask... I'm not one of the organizers, but I am somebody with a lot of experience in these types of road rallies / poker runs...
Signups have been up for a little over a week, and there are 14 teams.. Looks like the cars coming will be from WRX's, to Audis, to miatas, GT500 Mustang, possibly a lotus, and who knows what else...

If you think about it, its not that bad of a price...
Hotel Night #1 = $125ish
Hotel Night #2 = $175ish
Sticker Pack = $50/team
1 Lunch = $40/team
1 Dinner = $80/team
2 Breakfasts = $50/team
Charity Donation = $100/team (I think it may be more actually)...
That's almost $650 of the $800 there...
Plus any associated costs the rally organizers have like paying checkpoint workers for their time/mileage/gas, etc etc...
And I hear rumor there is also possibility of "track time" along the way, but the details are yet to be released..
In past events i've done similar to this, one event was hell rides in cars at Team Oneil Rally school, or we got 4 hours of indoor karting in Maine in Sodi Karts...
Everybody always thinks its really expensive... Until they participate...
