Charity Kanc Cruise?
Charity Kanc Cruise?
Guys--
We're drumming up ideas for our next cruise and I was looking to get some feedback and criticism from the community on the event.
After the outpouring of participation from the whole EvoX and EvoM community, and the buzz created by the Recap threads, the NEEVO crew wants to test the waters in making this an event for charity. We've kicked around a few ideas and given the number of both active military and retired veterans in the general Evo community, we've decided to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Tentative ideas for the fundraiser look like this:
$20 Donation for each car on the ride -- Hoping to include a Wounded Warrior 'Magnet' Ribbon for your cars.
$10 T-Shirts commemorating the event
$XX Printed Rolling-Road Shots of your car on the trip -- Need a Photographer willing to donate their time for this one.
$25 'Poker Run' style raffle entry (Limit 1 per car)
For those of you unfamiliar with a 'Poker Run' we would essentially have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize 'package' donated by various sponsors and vendors. Along the run we'd set up 5 'Waypoints' where each participating car would pick up a playing card! At the end of the run, the car with the best Poker Hand wins the basket.
As per usual, and if this is going to be successful, we'd need to be on our BEST behavior. Charities and businesses do NOT like sticking their names on car-related events due to liability issues. We had a great, safe ride last time.
If you'd like to get involved in the planning of this event (Slated for Octoberish) please let me know via PM.
If you're a vendor and would like to donate some products or services to this event, please let me know via PM.
If you think this is a **** idea and no one will show for it... SAY SOMETHING. The LAST thing we want to do is have this go to waste and we want to encourage maximum participation in the cruise at the least. The poker run, as with most raffles, is completely optional.
Looking forward to seeing all of you again.
Matt and the NEEVO Crew.
