Oil Recycling

Hey, anyone in CT know someone who recycles oil? Preferable someone in the south central area (New Haven +/- 30 min.)

I'm getting back to changing my own oil on the regular and need to find a home for it. If you guys know someone who heats their shop etc. with it I'd be glad to send it their way once in a while.

If there is an AutoZone near you they recycle it. Most auto parts stores like that offer that.

Yeah, I know I can dump it off at spots like that. I was hoping there was a member or someone related that wanted it.

I'd feel better that someone from the group is benefiting from it.

As far as I know if a bus. does oil changes they're obligated to take the used oil. Maybe that's just in CT. I think they can charge, I'm not sure who does or doesn't.

I've just left 5gal containers on their doorsteps when I was a kid.

It is better than just dumping it.

My buddy has a shop with a waste oil heater. Saves him tons of money, he just puts the used oil in his waste oil tank and the heater runs off of that. Pretty neat, just ask around and a shop that has one will gladly take any oil you will give them.

Yep, that's what I'm trying to do. I haven't found anyone local yet.
