Good reliable tuners to tune built evo x
Nah, he actually didn't factor in whatsoever, in fact I had forgot about him until you said anything.
I wished him well but many of his problems were his own, he was terrible at taking the advice of everyone on the forum and most of his crap was him and his buddy mechanic installing stuff incorrectly imo.
I don't want to get into his mess here but honestly I don't know how much that really reflects on CBRD or not, its hard to say.

Jon would fly out to tune if you pay him sure. I'd opt for an etune before I did that, it takes a lot longer to dial in the etune but results are the same, good solid tune.
I know its hard not to take that as a shot toward you CB, but in all honesty I do think you guys are a solid evo shop. I just see very little support for the X compared to the 8/9 crowd from many big shops. It makes sense totally though as the 8/9 people are a much bigger crowd and are more of a modding community as they aren't brand new cars.
I don't think you guys "suck" or anything at all, but I have seen very few shops actually take the time to make sure everything is running perfectly, including all the DD driving stuff.
Also, the biggest problem I have seen from bigger shops that use their 8/9 reputation to say they are good at tuning all evos is they never bother to actually stay up to date on evo x stuff. They just assume they are tuning an 8/9 and take care of the basics, fuel, timing, boost etc and never bother with MAP tables, fuel calibration tables and all the other maps that are unique to the X (or if they aren't at least very few people tune them). Again, I haven't ever utilized you or your shop so I am not pointing at you at all, but many other shops that people respect because of their great work on the 8/9's do this.
Honestly, the shops I respect the most are on Evoxforums not this one because their is a lot more Evo X stuff over there, especially technically and less drama.
So, bottom line, I am giving my honest opinion on who I would let tune my car in the OP's situation. I won't recommend someone that I don't know anything about or who doesn't actively post on Evo X items and show to me they know their stuff. I have never used speed circuit either, but they have shown they know how to tune many built X's in the last year and they actively contribute to the evo x community.
The OP will have to read all of our posts and determine for himself who he wants working on his car. I am simply here to give him a recommendation.
Not sure if you were pointing this at me or not, but just remember that saying applies to you too

I can respect that-
we have tuned LOTS of evo X's and actively do radiators, turbos, manifolds, piping, etc etc... all for the X- we are VERY passionate about them- I actually am one of the few guys in our area that prefers the X personally over the 8/9-
as for the mazza ordeal (mentioned above) feel free to PM me on that

Cheers
CB
keep in mind we work very closely with Bryan and Jon D (a good friend of mine)..
Jon may be coming here to tune some GTR's shortly-

I'll PM you to see the other side of the story for sure.
The evox is an easy car to tune the problem is how alot of people put the cars together.
But this is comin from someone who tunes 7 sec imports, low 8 sec supras, and even low 9 sec evos......

It's great that you can tune all those other cars Sean and I honestly do think you are a great tuner.
However, just because you can tune one vehicle doesn't mean you necessarily know the intricacies of another platform. I have no doubt about your tuning knowledge what so ever but learning a new platform takes time and practice and from what I can tell most big shops aren't spending the time on the X as the customer base isn't nearly as big as the evo 8/9 or other tuner cars. So most shops just say, yea I tune evos look at all these 8/9's I've tuned, I can take care of this X no problem, I tune 1000whp evo 8/9's etc.
Now I know you have tuned several bigger builds on the X platform so I know you aren't really one of the shops I specifically referring to, just replying to the fact you are using other platforms as an example of your tuning knowledge on the x.
I had to learn my lessons the hard way, and I will admit many builds fail because of poor part selection or improper installation of motors, pistons, bearings or hell even bolt ons etc. But the tune is still the key to a successful build imo which is why I place so much emphasis on it.
Any way, not trying to bag on you, more or less just trying to stop people from falling into the trap I did which cost me several motors. And on top of that give my opinion on who I would have tune my car. I don't feel like starting some "war" on the internetz about this so just for reference because I don't recommend a shop doesn't mean I hate them or have issues with them. I just have zero 1st hand experience with them.

EvoX is nothing special to tune for us, we have perhaps done more tunes on those cars than anyone in the NE. I am glad you give me your seal of approval in tuning.
Alot get away with talking smack on here because they dont have to actually race the car or run a time. Seeing a timeslip is worth 10000 words.
Remember in 2009 when we were making 700+ wheel HP with the ESX evoX with VPRO engine management and a Cosworth 2.2? What were people making then, when we made that we had more HP than even AMS, the car is still running to this day.

no problem
we will be doing more GTR work shortly too, as soon as we can accomodate more cars in the new building!Sean does nice work... and is very mouthy in this thread for once ahahh
having a bad week sean?cb
Oh wow, I can make a car run on full power for 8 whole seconds...... lol
Try 20-30 min road race sessions, or even 12 hour endurance.
Where I live drag racing is dead, we do some 1/2 mile roll races.... and won .... in a GT-R with stock manifold turbo....
Beat a 1200hp tt Ford gt, a bunch of 996/997 and many more..
I'm not busting your ***** Sean, I'm simply stating that just because people don't build drag cars does not mean they don't build fast cars.
