Yeah I was the first and I still regret it. Miss that car. The ST is great but it has too many limitations and the yellow is too much.

no time/space to do it myself, which makes it a $1500 job and probably at least a month at the shop since its busy season. that kills the track budget/schedule.

clutch is $600 if i wound up going with another comp, flat fee clutch install around here is usually $800ish (id only let kaizen or dynotech touch my car up here), which i don't think is that bad. even if it was only $1000 thats 2-3 track days. i dont have sponsors and cheap reg fees like you!

and yes, living up here sucks ***** on multiple levels...but jobs in my profession have dried up so im stuck.

Tim, who knows. lol

Nate, bring the car down, Thai and I will do it for $500 and you get the car back same weekend. Team NNR and DiepThroat Motorsports could accomplish any Evo task!LMAO

lol thanks for the offer, but too far. if i ever move back to ny then absolutely

marc/thai - as instructors, if you ride in a car with roll bar would you rather ride in a stock seat/seatbelt for both people, or driver in a bucket seat with 5 point and you in a stock evo eat with 4 point schroth ASM belt so you can use your hans?

I'm not Thai or Marc, but the convention of thought is that both driver and passenger have the same type of safety devices. So similar seat and belts. From what I've learned, cars with rollbars should have fixed back seats, not adjustable. Also, the Schrothe ASM belts are not meant to work with any neck restraint devices.

i wont get in a car with roll bar that has stock seats period, let alone stock harness. roll bar needs fixed back seats and harness. stock reclinable seat back can break on rear impact, and your head end up on the roll bar.

i do drive on the street with roll bar, fixed back seat and stock belt.

Stock evo seat with Schroth asm belt complies with all nasa rules so...I know it's not ideal but I have to deal with the stupid first session instructor required in de2 for one more event

as long as your oem 3 point belts still work, and your OEM seats are installed, I don't know why you'd have a problem passing any kind of tech.

i ran with stock seats and ASM belts for years. actually, thats all I ran with when I tracked my EVO. some clubs were OK with it and some weren't, but as long as you have the OEM belts installed still they can't say **** because you can just say you're going to run OEM belts.

As far as mixing levels of safety between passenger and driver seat... thats a whole different topic.

right im trying to deal with the equal restraint for passenger/driver deal. because the oem seats can be run with a 4 point legally (at least in our region) im basically trying to figure out how instructors would feel about that. so basically different seats, but equivalent restraint. i need to get through 1 more event before ill have a passenger bucket seat and not have to care. oem belts are still in place and there is option for me and instructor to be in stock seats/belts.

fyi, because of the way the autopower bar is, the harness bar almost acts as a seat back brace, so the back will not be collapsing.
