Most of us ran summers at the last event in February and the track was wet. If the track is dry, you'll want to be on summers for sure. I went out on Snows the first session and couldn't even drive the car, wouldn't go, couldn't stop (instant abs), and wouldn't turn in (just plow the nose).
The last 2yrs this event has been held its in Feb, in 2012 the weather was great, this year it rained all day.
If your buddy is an instructor, I don't know why not. I'll be instructing, along with a number the PCD boys.
