So I went to the RallyX in Belmont, NH today - it's the first I've ever been to one. So I didn't race, because I really wanted to see one first and I'm still not sure I want to put my car through all those rocks and gravel and even if I did race, the stock Yokos after 24,000 miles look like they'd leave me stuck in the dirt.

Anyway, saw lots of cool cars running - some nice surprises too. An old Galant VR4 was there, an old 4WD Civic hatchback did pretty well, a Celica-Supra did really well, especially among the 2WD cars, and a bunch of WRX, Impreza, Legacies, etc freakin everywhere. A Toyota Tacoma was the only truck there and was really good, albeit he's the RallyX chair, so I'd imagine pretty experienced.

The really strange thing is that I've seen 4 STis and an Evo today and none were racing. 3 STis were at the rally, though only as spectators and another STi and Evo were spotted going north on the various highways between Worcester, MA and Belmont, NH on my way home...

Anyway, all in all, very fun stuff and perhaps next year if another event is within reach, I'll go race. Until then, I'll be doing lots of Autocrossing this year - Devens season starts on 4/4 ;-)
