I have done a search and everyone seems to think the ride quality is good.. I am going to buy the Tein S but i live in florida all year and im not worried about it here.. I will be in pot hole city NY this summer and am worried that I will run out of travel and will do damage to my car.. Im pretty sure it will be ok and i will just need to do an alignment more often but could someone let me know what they think? The sooner the better i want to install them this week but ill wait till the end of the summer if you guys think it will be that bad.. Thanks guys..

 

I'd do it, when u get in NYC, do u really want to drive the Evo? you can take a cab/bus/subway everywhere u need to go. Plus thieves and vandals.

Get the springs now, drive the car to NYC and park it in a good garage, and use public transportation.

Oh btw, my parents and my entire family are from NY, i'll be there in two weeks, my third time of the year... so just cuz i'm from texas doesn't mean i don't know

Many NY Evo owners have the springs and they dont seem to have any problems

the potholes i encounter seem to have a bigger effect on my rims and tires than anything else, i've spent 1-2gs atleast on tires and rims in the last year, damn potholes,my advice to you is to watch the road : ),

 

i drive in the city all the time and you can affoid most of them with the evo....... it won;t be a problem

 

LOL, this isn't the 80's bro. When u go shoppin u don't have to worry about your car being jacked up on cinderblocks after 2 minutes.

As far as the springs go, buy em. NYC is notorious for potholes for good reason. I live in Manhattan and am slammed 1.8", i haven't really had any problems b/c what it all boils down to is avoiding bumps and potholes at all costs.

The only real way your suspension will get messed up is if u continuously drive over potholes w/o tryin to avoid them.

Avoidance of potholes=Longer life of rims/shocks.

It's all about how u drive.

 

Thats what I thought! I ordered the springs and am installing them tommorow.. Ive never had a problem before on my other cars in NY. I just know after a hard winter the roads are pretty bad an I didnt know how much travel we really had left in the stock shocks. Its all good I decided if these last me 15K I'll Be fine. I want to do the full set up by then. If anyone is in NY near the city let me know we'll meet up. Im driving up there beggining of next month I should be home all summer..
