Where to get racing fuel in Seattle area
I've just recently moved to the Seattle/Everett area, Marysville to be exact and would like to know where I can purchase some race fuel.
Doing a search online didn't help. Please PM me if you know a place nearby.
At my old place I was fortunate enough to have a gas station that sold race fuel about 1/2 mile from my home in the back... they had 103 Unleaded/110 Leaded and 114 Leaded

"Woodinville Sports Cars" in Woodinville has got some, or "Speedwear" in Redmond both have VP fuel. Some 76 gas stations have fuel, just have to ask (unknown on the type of fuel there)
what is 110LL, i dont understand the LL. is 110 standard small jet fuel? what are the long term effects of driving a tankful every once in a while? and how much should you expect to pay for it? thanks.
check race tracks, and the gas stations near the tracks. The Texaco just before Bremerton motorsports park sells 102, last I saw. Or hell, just make your own with either a bottle of octane booster or add your own "witches brew" of chemicals

there is a small gas station on the entry into Arlington that sells 3 flavors of VP at the pump. You want to stay away from 110LL. It's leaded aviation gas. the lead content will really mess with the emission control stuff if it's still there (and you're planning on using it in the evo), and LL (low lead) avgas actually has more lead than leaded gasoline used to.

DO NOT use 100LL (low lead) avgas in a car.
100LL has as much lead in it as 'old' leaded fuel did @ 4 grams/gallon.
It is also made for air-cooled engines that run low RPM at constant throttle settings, so the throttle response is CRAP
If you are trying to get octane CHEAP, get a drum of toluene and mix it 40% with 92 octane premium to get around 103 octane.
If you do some reading, you'll find that the major (just about ONLY) difference between pump gas and race gas is the amount of toluene in the mix. There is a very small bit of xylene as well, but for all practical purposes toluene is all you need.
You *could* use a few drops of ATF to lube the injectors if you REALLY want to be nice to your car, but most people dont.
Yes, I've done this personally in the rally car and it worked GREAT. The drum was about $225 and a drum deposit of $25, so that should treat almost 150 gallons of premium unleaded. I think it worked out to something like $3.15/gallon for 103 octane. This was BEFORE the gas prices went through the roof, it was about $1.60/gallon at the time

Oh yeah....to answer the original question.........
Nelson Petroleum is a VP distributor and they have the good stuff in drums ready to go out the door up in Arlington. They also have a pump with 110 octane LEADED in it for somewhere around $5.50/gallon (a STEAL at the moment)
I think that they also have a distributor in Everett, but I'm not certain.
Cheers,

Pina Motorsports (www.pinamotorsports.com who specializes in 4G63s) in Kent, WA can get any type of VP Racing Fuels and always has C16 (117 Octane & Leaded) on tap in 55 gallon drums. Bring your own container though.

There are a couple places where I get it....
76 station in Auburn on Auburn Way.
76 station in Everett, close to the Boeing tour center
Woodinville Sports Cars
Sounds like the the one in Everett would be the closest for you... you have to go in and ask for it, they carry it in barrels not out of the pump.

Thanks for all the info fellas. Stay away from LL because it's "low lead" only when compared to pure lead. Arlington... that is VERY close to where I live and way less traffic going North on I5 than South, at least from Marysville it is. I'll definitely check them out next time. Auburn is too far but it's nice to know where to get C16's if I ever want to tune for it.
I drove all the way to Speedwear in Redmond on Monday but prior to making that long *** drive I called some performance shops in Everett area and asked them if they knew of any place that sold race fuel and one told me that a motorcycle dealership off Everett Mall Dr sells it but unfortunately it was a Monday and those of you who ride motorcycle knows that most motorcycle shops close on Mondays, this one was no different.
for me.
I put 5 gallons of 99 unleaded in my tank mixed with 92's to test out a borrowed 93 octane map and put some 110's leaded in a container, paid over $60 for all... they were $6.something/gallon and I was on my merry way. That shop has some rich *** customers... they were loaded with porsches... BMW's, nice modded Mini's.. those GT3/GT2 Porsche 911's are nice!

The 76 station on the Mukilteo Speedway across from Taco bell sells 100octane. They’re nice guys. I carry an empty 2.5 gallon can in my trunk and fill up there weekly. 2.5 gallons of 100 and topping off with 92 works out to a constant diet of around 94octane for $30 per fill. It keeps my Evo happy.
