11/13/04 - Run with me?
Saturday, November 13th. AM
I have this great little route I used to run all the time back when I drove cars that had more than 3 cylinders. It starts at Bridal Veil off I-84 and ends near 26 east of Sandy, but I always turn around and do it again backwards. It's a whole different route when you're on the other side of the road. Since I'm moving away this weekend I'm gonna go make my last run and say goodbye to it on Saturday morning. I'd love it if you would join me!
I know you just had a GTG, and it is short notice, so any kind big turnout would be my silly little pipe dream. But if even just one of you showed up it would be the coolest thing that's happened to me in months. This from a girl whose done 180's in the middle of Germantown just to chase down an Evo in a Geo Metro,..... just so I could watch it move. (033 BAX are you here?)
If anybody is interested I'll get proper directions and whatnot. It's less than an hour run one way. It's got some amazing hairpins that have made me turn around and go back for seconds before moving on. I always ran it at dawn and almost never saw another car out there, but I doubt I could get any of you out there that early so there may be traffic. We'll see whose interested and then set a time. I've probably driven it a hundred times and have never seen a cop there.
Any Evo guy (are there Evo girls?) that will let me ride shotgun and save me from my Geo will get a free tank of gas out of the deal. I couldn't think of a better way to kiss my favorite roads goodbye. Don't get this silly notion that you'll catch me gettin' slideways in the Metro. You gotta have a lot more skills than me to have any fun in that piece of crap on unfrozen ground.
Oh, and I found a few pictures of me that are about a year old. I don't want to post them but if you ask nice I'll send them to you. This whole thing where people accuse me of being a guy is just obnoxious.

You guys are the coolest batch of people I've ever found on the net!
we are only cool cause we are just as obsessed, even the guys without evo's are obsessed with their lancers, or ralliarts. it consumes us. we can relate to you. the guys without lancers are obsessed with their eclipses, and those that havent been blessed yet, are waiting until then can get one.
Well, looks like no takers. So i'll go by myself. Here's the route. If you ever get around to checking it out let me know what you think. Sorry, no facy maps.
Bridal Veil exit 28 off I-84.
Turn right onto Historic Columbia River Hwy.
Travel 8 miles and turn left onto Evans Rd.
Go straight through stop sign.
After 13 miles the road comes to a Y with stop signs. Go left.
Go about 1.5 miles and you'll find a sharp right corner with a road that shoots off to the left in the middle of it. (I usually take the corner, because I like it, and then turn around and go onto the next road) I think it's called Marmot.
Follow that for about 10-12 miles and you'll hit a stop sign. If you turn right, then right again, you'll hit 26 about 10 miles east of Sandy. But I'll turn around before the stop sign and go back.
That's it. It's only about 30 miles from 84 to 26. I'll probably hit the Bridal Veil exit at about 10:30 am Saturday morn, in case the cartoons suck and you figure "What the hell,... she'll buy my gas and she can't exactly beat me up and steal my car".

You think Germantown is yours huh? Oh how I wish we could have matched cars and I could show you how wrong you are. Ill tell you what,... you take me for a ride over Germantown in your car and I'll let you know if you're better than me. But it's gotta be both ways,.... St. Johns to Cornelius Pass, and back again,....twice. Maybe three times just to be sure

Yeah, that works for me.
