Vandalized Evo in the news

From King5.com, saw it on the news first. Wicked White will look for pictures

A vacationing Microsoft worker and his family return to the shock of their lives: They found their home and belongings the targets of malicious vandalism.

They can't make sense of it. They say they have no known enemies. No one has threatened them, yet now they're sunk with damages of more than $100,000.

When homeowner David Burd got home Thursday night, he was greeted by an interior flood.

"I heard water running, saw water dripping from the kitchen ceiling," he said.

He also saw his beloved sports car -- a Mitsubishi Evolution 8-- trashed.

After police arrived, Burd, his wife, and 8- and 11-year-old daughters toured their home turned crime scene.

They backtracked from the smashed backdoor where the suspect or suspects appear to have invaded their home to see bashed computers and beat-up TVs. They climbed the waterlogged steps to the upstairs bathroom, where criminals topped off their act of rage by turning on the faucets and leaving them running, possibly for days.

This was the abrupt end to the Burd's Christmas vacation in Oregon.

"My kids are now afraid. My wife is in shock and nervous. Are these people going to come back, going to hurt our kids or us?

And for the Burds, perhaps the most baffling aspect of the crime is that only a DVD player was stolen.

"This is a huge crime for us. It's very malicious. This is someone's home they've invaded," said Redmond Police spokeswoman Stacey Holland.

"We have collect a lot of evidence. We are hoping the people responsible will just come forward and make this easier for everyone," Holland said.

Burd says his homeowner's insurance should cover the material damages, but can't repair the neighborhood's sense of security.

"The real lost is just, we're now not going to leave home without wondering what's going to happen to our house," he said.

I saw this and was awww struck. What is wrong with people today? I guess on the positive side, at least they werent home when these dumbasses invaded their home. Could have been alot worse. We should set up some sort of relief fund for these folks. Any interested let me know and I will set up a paypal account.
