Peeling Brembos
Just a quick question. Has anybody else in the Northwest had this problem with the clear coat on the Brembos peeling? Mine are and they look like crap. I've done a search and it seems a lot of owners have had this problem and some had this fixed under warranty.
I've gone to two dealerships in the Portland area and they have shot me down as far as covering it under warranty. Just wondering if anybody in the northwest had this problem and if their dealership covered it. I'd like to know which dealership because I'd make the small road trip to have them replaced.
The dealerships gave me two reasons why they wouldn't replace them. One, because the peeling is due to bleeding the brakes and two, because they are cleaned using harsh chemicals. I called BS on this since I haven't done either.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Interesting. The guy that works on my car was a Mitsu tech and he even told me they were replacing all peeling calipers with new ones. The whole peeling is cause by the people who bleed the brakes at the factory and get brake fluid on them. You need to call Mitsu customer service.

I just wonder why I had to go through this huge hassle to have something replaced that is clearly defective and was not caused by any abuse on my part...
my dealership here in KY just replaced 3 of em under warranty yesterday. There pretty expensive ($3800.00 for 3 calipers). That's probubly why they won't warranty them. There is a TSB about it out there somewhere. My dealership was teh one who told me about it. If you can find it, then print it off and take it to the dealership and show them that it is a warranty item.
I wish i had the TSB number to give ya, try calling mitsu and ask them for the number or try the national highway safety bureau...

I got a call from the dealership a little while ago and they said they will replace them under a "one time deal" and out of a "good will gesture" and that it still is NOT a warranty issue. Either way they are getting replaced but I'm not walking out of that dealership until I'm sure they are mint.

If there is a TSB number I will try to find it, or even someone knows of it please post.
