Charity Show in April

Good afternoon! I'm sorry it took me a bit to get back to you but I wanted to let you know how the meeting on Sunday went in regards to the charity food bank show.

As far as the car show goes, it looks like we are a full green light on our end with lots already in place to fill some of the holes I was worried about.

Our preliminary projected plan of attack for the event will be as listed out below:

Some Saturday in April
8:00 am Breakfast meeting for the setup and volunteer team at Shari’s or other local spot.
9:00 am The setup team arrives and sets up and marks off the areas as needed
10:00 am The cars will begin rolling in
12:00 noon Registration complete
12:00 - 3:00 Show and voting by the people
3:00 - 4:00 Awards and prizes
4:00 - Go the heck home after clean up

There will be I hope 10 categories of cars for the show listed below. I’m hoping to have a first place for sure and in a few categories with a (MAYBE) second place as well. (outlined below) The easiest way to deal with this part of it in order to avoid any problems is to have the spectators vote for the categories. Its worked pretty well in the past shows that I’ve done and only requires about 30 minutes to count all the ballots.

1. Best Car
2. Best Truck
3. Best Old School - Pre-1975
4. Best Domestic
5. Best Import
6. Best Scion
7. Best New School- Post 1975
8. Best Paint/ Graphics
9. Charities Choice Chosen by the Food Bank and or Church members only
10. Best in Show

For a total of 10 awards. Most likely 10 trophies.

During the whole event I would like to be doing a raffle for some smaller prizes. Other events would be the chips and pops being sold, hopefully some music, and I really, really want to have some sort of interactive event like a battery/starter toss or other such type of event. (pie eating contest etc, etc…. so If any of you have prizes to donate and or ideas, pass them my way!!!!

Registration costs would be $10.00 per car and at least 2 non-perishable food items -OR- 10 non-perishable food items
Raffle tickets would be sold at 3 for $1.00 and 20 for $5.00

I still need help in the following areas PRONTO!!!!!

· Advertising in the form of flyers, word of mouth, and youth group high school hand outs.
· Designing the flyers
· Prizes for Raffle and show cars
· Show supplies (chalk, cash box, raffle tickets, tables, chairs, barrier tape, small dot stickers for registration, registration sheets, more later)
· Interactive event activities
· People to work and enjoy!

I want to also make it know that this is a fun family show and cruise in and there will be NO bad mouthing, trash talking or otherwise not nice behavior or you will be asked to leave at once. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
