I just wanted to say that it was alot of fun today, and I enjoyed meeting alot of cool people. Lets do it again soon! hopefully I wil have my car out of the shop for the next run.

Lots of nice EVOs! and a few others as well. I was the ugly duckling so stayed back.....
We drove out into the Columbia Gorge from Beaverton Hooters (Dear God, why always Hooters? I like the ladies, but they frown upon you taking 6 year olds in)
Stopped in Troutdale for gas and froze our asses off. Then very quickly off to crown point. The first group made the stop light and dissappeared. That left the tail party of a Stealth (?), Scion TC, a Honda, a Srt-4 and myself to catch up. We didnt.
But we met up at Crown Point and got blown over, wow, that wind was whipping.
Then down the old highway, past all the iced up lakes and waterfalls, and onto Hood River.
In Hood River, we split into two groups, one went back on the Washington side of the Columbia River, and the rest of us went back over MT Hood. Ha Ha to the EVOS! We found a HUGE (football field and then some) vacant parking lot at MT Hood Meadows.
The parking lot made the trip for me! 30-40 mph powerslides, full whipping donuts, screaming full tilt drifts! It was freaking awesome. The lot was a combination of ice, slush and gravel. Perfect! I did three or four full tilt boogies! And of course left the video camera at home.....
There was a hotty silver WRX wagon with studded snow tires and he had a blast as well. Looked good too.
The SRT-4 had fun, but not as much as us!
Then there was the black WRX with slicks, or so it seemed. He was scary to watch as he slid all around pretty much out of control once he got some speed. But he had fun too!
Now I contemplate when to wash the wagon.

oh yeah......
Kudos to you Evo folk. The Subaru Community pretty much seems to be the biggest bunch of wuss asses when it comes to getting drives together. I have gone on two subaru drives. There were 4 cars the first time, and 3 the second. The Evo group really tends to get its act together for these big drives!

Yeah cruise was amazing. I was blown away by the number of people...probably 20 cars and at least 10 Evos (maybe more). A few of the Evos that took the Washington route back got pulled over, I think someone tipped off the 5-0 about people speeding down the highway. No one got a ticket, fortunately.
Let me just say that I had the time of my life and I hope people post some awesome pics up. Or maybe Chris could get Tyler to upload some video from their suction cup mounted video camera that they used to document the ride
This only made my lust for an Evo even more pronounced, and my 300zx all the more gutless. I hope to have my own Evo to bring along for the next drive.

The Evo Community tries to make a good showing! Thanks for the summary it almost felt like I was there.
How was the drive over Hood? I plan on going up there to go snowboarding but I don't want to get ticketed for not carrying chains for studded tires.

The drive over MT Hood was pretty, but REALLY slow. I guess the cars ahead of me cared about their paint and windshield! Damn fancy pant show cars! Actually, the black caged WRX did lose a light due to a rock.
Did I mention I had fun in the parking lot! Damn, alot of people missed out on this special place of heaven!

good day, i had three close encounters with the law, and one resulted in a stop, but no ticket, someone had reported we were "driving recklessly" but were followed to no avail, and so they decided to stop a few of us in washougal. funny stuff. cop was nice, and everything checked out fine. he did say "we got a call regarding a group of subarus" i explained this is a mitsu, so it couldnt have been me. alex he wanted to pull you over with me, and attempted to wave you down, but you drove on..... never a bad idea.
hannahhawaian and his gang (mivo and someone else) were shooting pics/vid like a japanese tourist, so they better post some up.
it was a good time though. cold, windy, and fast.
