So we were mobbin in the snow and.........oops
My boyfriend and I went to go play with the MR in the snow today and we took a corner a little fast and ended up sliding into a curb. First off I'd like to say how surprised I am at the supposed all wheel drive my car has. Very dissapointed. We were slipping and sliding everywhere. We wouldn't even press the gas while we were taking corners and the car lost traction. we changed the settings from snow to tarmac to gravel and it didn't make a difference. we were thinking that maybe the stock tires are just too soft for gripping in the snow? Anyways... I've done some searches on here for "bbs wheels' and "MR wheels" and I can't seem to find out how much they cost to replace a wheel and if anyone around here has them or if they are just parts i can get from the dealer only. They only got a lil munched on the lip so i'm thinking we might be able to get the lip redone somewhere like les schwab (they refinished my racingharts for 25$ a wheel and they looked like new). Anyone have any ideas for me? thanks!

Definitely shoudl of been smarter the stock tires dont mix with snow, they are specifically summer tires, you should be able to have the wheels fixed but i suggest to check your alignment since something might be slightly out of place now

Did Mitsu stop putting the sticker on the inside of the driver door to advise owners to not use the stock Advans on snow??? I had one in my 03 when I purchased my evo back in 03. The stock Advans are not just not recommended for winter but is actually hazzardous when use on snow.

Awd will not help you one bit if you are off the gas. AWD does not magically increase your lateral traction and you shouldn't be using summer compound tires in the snow.
Where did common sense go?

Umm, im not going to try to be mean, but you deserve what happend because you can't read!!!! There is a sticker on the driver's door that says: THE STOCK ADVANS SUCK IN THE SNOW, PLEASE CHANGE DURING THE WINTER TO NOT WRECK YOUR CAR, THANKS MITUSBISHI.
Also, if you read your owners manual it says the same thing.
