Shift around at least at redline to 7200. Once you get tuned you'll be able to shift at a higher rpm if your tune accounts for it.

Thanks for the advice,,,,,,, I really had no other opinions today other than to rev at 5500 and dump the clutch. I was kind of on my own today.

Practice slipping the clutch next time, dumping it is hard on the whole drivetrain, and more likely to break your tires loose. Espically if you have the restrictor removed.

No problem. Stock Evo's without a tune will run through the gears at about 7600 rpms before you hit the rev limit. So shifting at or around the 7200 mark should improve your times a little.

Not too many people have the ability to "successfully" tune a Utec. It's a real finicky EMS for the EVO. If you aren't going to tune your car yourself, then a reflash maybe a better option for you. The tuner pro is way cool if you want to start tuning the Utec yourself.

You definitely want to be careful tuning the Utec and make sure it's someone who knows their stuff. So many variables to that thing it made made head spin when I was thinking about getting one. Good luck.

Thats why I have been so skepticle about "who" tunes the car. Maybe a flash is in my future????? I have been waiting for someone to come around to tune the Utec but I am not seeing anyone step up. I know there are East Coast "people" that can do it, but thats a long drive for a tune, lol.

Hey Ryan,

I got the chance to compress your vids a little bit....by about 40%. It's in divx format.
