Not sure about a timeframe, but I was there when the WORKS guy was and they did mention the TR-340, TR-400, and TR-500 being available as an option when you buy the car.

I was the one that engaged this! Glad to see it finally came together. It will be nice to get WORKS quality parts locally and have a dealer install them (for those of you that are not "do it yourselfers". - Will

The real queston is this....will Steve put a mark-up on these?? If he does I don't think it'll go through the educated individuals that know prices and stuff. Now if Steve takes the approach like the Mits dealer that works with Buschur - no mark up and just allowing you to finance it - then I believe he could be successful in selling more evos.

Interesting news! Kudos to Mountain for supporting the Evo enthusiast community that way. I have to admit though that I am somewhat skeptical. While it is nice to see a dealership offering WORKS products, just selling products is easy - that's no different than the guys at myevostore.com offering WORKS products through their web site, except you pay tax instead of shipping. The real benefit would be in Mountain being able to offer WORKS expertise in the install, service and support of these products - and that's a lot more challanging (are Mountain tech's going to be trained by WORKS people?).

It would be great if the next time I need my P2 upgraded for a new mod, I could have that mod installed at Mountain together with the tuning upgrade, without the down time (or trip time) of getting the ECU/car to WORKS and back. Compared to other after market vendors, WORKS is expensive. The reasons why I'm willing to pay the premium for using WORKS parts in many of my mods is the WORKS promise of quality/ reliable parts, paired with their guarantee of performance and outstanding customer service. Whenever I had a problem with a WORKS product, it was expertise of people like Jamie / Kirk that made the difference between a prolonged headache or a quick and effective resolution.

As some of you know, I had a bit of a bad experience with Mountain when they replaced my TC. I whole heartedly want to state the both the owner and the service manager were extremely supportive and did everything to make the situation right, but that doesn't change the fact that the tech who worked my car was so incompetent that he not only didn't fix the problem, but added new damage to the car in the process. While the tech was fired shortly thereafter, the car was not 100% until I brought it to Cascade to have it put back together the right way.

I think a good part of that was related to taking the time to do the job right, which is a challange with any dealership since they charge a flat fee for a given job. If they do X jobs a day, for Y dollars each, the more cars they can finish in a given day, the better the profit. I don't condem that, I own part of my own company and would be the first to admit the bottom line is after all why you are doing business. Of course, having a customer come back for the fith time to look at the same repair again doesn't help that dissposition to get the car out of there and move on to the next paying job. In contrast, a place like Cascade who charges by the hour has no incentive to get done quick, and I have seen with my own eyes the difference that makes in the results of the work.

So bottom line, while the service peeps at Mountain rank right up there with some of the nicest folks around and I think it is great that they are supporting the Evo community in the way they do, until they do something about improving their expertise, just offering WORKS parts isn't going to make much of an impact. A warranty is great, but having your car done right the first time is still far more important to me.

Ok, I'll get off my soap box now .
