i apologize if i came off a lil strong but "imo", its not worth the timing and effort to put that much into a lancer. sounds better?

bottom line is he's putting in the work for what he wants to do, if you don't like it, oh well it's not your car payment, It's my opinion that his Lancer is nice and a good sleeper just like the GST's quite a few of us used to have, just because it's not an EVO doesn't mean its a POS.
I have an evo and a lancer sportback. I'd love to mod the heck out of the sportback if I had the cash, though I'd prolly go all show.. any car can be made to go fast.. some just come fast stock.
[QUOTE=machron1]LOL yeah and then he'll probably double his insurance and car payment, and triple his maintenance bills...you gonna give him the difference in cost?

Plenty of us already know that turboing a NA motor, while not at all a bad idea, isn't a good one from an economy standpoint. Costs for parts, install, tuning, maintenance and additional wear usually far outweighs whatever the short-term gains looked like. I don't know much about this particular kit, but you could then also run into the additional hassle of emissions and *then* there's the added risk of losing your entire investment in an accident situation (regardless of liability) when an adjuster sees a non-stock snail under the hood.
Again, not a bad idea, but not a good one based on the "difference in cost."
I actually was in an almost identical boat with the original poster. Bought a turbo for my 3G Eclipse a few years back, and ran into the same old lies, delays and ultimately, missing parts and a seller that declared bankruptcy. Oldest game in the book, just Google "John Hennessy" for some *great* horror-stories. Hopefully yours turns out a lot better.
