Track day de-brief and video

I was at a track day at Pacific on the 6th. What a great day. Slightly cloudy, not too hot. There were about 30 total drivers for the event, so the track was wide open all day with no run groups. Basically go out whenever you wanted, for as long as you want!

I am really happy with the EVO IX, for a stock car it really did a great job. I was fighting understeer all day, but I expected that. My previous car was a Miata, and the evo is about as different as you can get. By the end of the day, I was driving it much better and dipped into the 1:39's - on stock tires - about 10 or so seconds faster than my Miata!

I used ATE Super Blue and Performance Friction 97's. This was a fantastic combination. My only problem was that the calipers turned a deep shade of red, and the white lettering is now yellowish

The stock tires are pretty good, though a little torn up No one seems to have any RA-1's in 255/40/17 in stock, so I may end up buying Pilot Sport Cups...

I will be at the Corvette day this Wednesday, and hope to have another good day. Anyone else going???

Here is the video Sorry about the sound. Stay tuned for more details about the camera mount...

Thanks,

Marek

So what is the cure for "Brownbos"? Do these titanium backing plates work, for example?

consider the brownbos a badge of honor. It means that you're willing to drive the car hard...

They should help. Backing plates along with air ducting is about all you can do.

Wednesday was wet...

There were a few dry laps, but ended up not running the last session. Though I think with the AWD I was having a better time than some of the corvettes. And I know that the Viper on 710's that hit the wall at the kink did not have a good day either

oh well... Alfa day on the 28th, here I come!
