Some can advertise but not others?

Moderators,

I posted, in this forum, that I want to sell my car. Next day I see it's gone. Later I notice it's been moved.

As I'm browsing this forum I see other threads advertising not just parts but cars for sale. Those were here before I added mine and are still here after mine was moved. Don't believe me? Have a look:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=213754

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=213855

And most of all:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=211958

WTF? Did these guys pay the you to keep their stuff here while you dumped mine? Do I need to be "evolved" instead of "evolving" or something?

Please, do tell - what's your criteria?

it's not a giant conspiracy. when I'm busy at work I don't get as much time to clean out the trash as I'd like, and sometimes threads get missed. Advertising here is OK if you meet the requirements to post in the for sale section (50 value added posts, and sufficient time on the site). I'm sorry if my moderation doesn't meet the requirements you expect out of me; I'm immediately refund the admins 50% of the $0.00 I get paid for doing this. I didn't move your thread, and I don't know who did.

How about you remove whatever is lodged sideways up your *** and send a response that's at least as civil as my original post? If you didn't remove it than save the reply for the Mod that did.

I believe I meet all of the criteria you mention. There are at least five other FS on the FIRST PAGE of the forum and most have been there a really long time so don't whine about "missing" something.

The only thing I don't like about your moderation is your attitude. If you don't like the fact that you don't get paid then quit. Until then how 'bout you save your bleating for someone else?

I'm the primary mod for the NW region, and any of the supermods or admins can move/delete things as well. I do take offence when people randomly vent at me or call my effort "shoddy" for something I have little or no control over.

I'm sorry that your one thread got moved. It didn't get deleted, it got moved (probably by a site admin) to the for sale section (where for sale threads really belong).

I'm sorry if I came across as cranky, but when I log on for the first time in two days and the first thing I find are 4 threads with the same 3 people critcizing the staff and the moderation of this site, I tend to get a little "defensive". I also take offence to the accusation that the staff is taking bribes, and are discriminating against other memebers.

I strongly recommend you adjust your attitude. What's the big deal man; and starting a second thread "please respond" because somebody didn't answer you within one hour at 9pm on a friday night is what really pissed me off. Mods, supermods, and admins are human. We make what we feel are the best decisions at the time we make them, and don't appreciate everyone screaming and getting all wound up when something goes wrong.

The admins are currently discussing whether or not to allow posting for sale in the regional forums anymore, I know which way my vote is going now...

It would be supremely lame to take away for sale posting in the regional forums. A LOT of people like to deal locally for parts and they can just go to their regional forum on the site.

the site admins are discussing it because this isn't the only region with this problem. keeping an eye on these threads is a two way street. If members see something that doesn't belong, hit the report post button, and that way it notifies me (or the mods of the section in question) and it's less likely to get missed. We do our best to make this site safe and useful, but we can't do it without the help of the membership.

If the double thread caused you grief than I'm sorry. It occurred to me you wouldn't notice the first one because the title was lacking, especially on a Friday night.

I didn't post the the FS ad lightly - I did so only after seeing others there. I'm sure you can understand why I (and others) would question the move of our theads. My first thought was it was moved by the mod I had a dispute with several weeks back. I was hoping he/she would reply.

I, like you (and most others) don't appreciate poor manners. If you can't handle your decisions being questioned you're probably too sensitive to be a moderator on a forum as popular as this. I do, however, thank you for the most recent reply - it's more what I would've expected the first time.

Peace.

I wasn't in my "happy place" when I first responded (just finished 30 straight hours at work) and was really less (how do I put it) tolerant and expressive as I intended to be. (I think smoked mustang got the idea that I was intending to be funny with the refund portion of my post). Unless the person you were fueding with was an Admin or supermod, that person didn't move your thread. I'm the only "regular" mod for NW region that I know of. No ill will meant, no harm done.

Why not do what the Subaru board does - make regional sub-forums for For Sale posts.

Local FS is better than regional.

YMMV
