Should went with Kuhmo MXs or KDW2s. No offense but federal tires are usually cheap and not that great.
Try airing down some more say 15psi. What are your 60fts?

Not joking, if I remember right low pro federal tires were like $85/tire for 17s.
Im not saying his time isn't good, he said hes spinning all fours, Im trying to help him figure out his traction issues.

Wider is better. I mean I can spin 275's for the first 30'...or at least I did wed at PR. I would look into maybe some 275-40-17 BFG drag radials and some FN10RC's or something.

my bad there the 245/40/17 we went as wide as we could go on the stock wheels and they were the stickest i could find at les schwabs beside the t1s and i didnt want shell out 800$ for tires im going to drag . anyways the federal steel belts have really awesome cornering and grab really good. i think alot of the problem now is john reed gave me alot more timing down low on my take off and also set my 2 step to about 18lbs of boost at launch lol

Glad to help Paul, let me know if you need anything else or if you are going to the track again anytime soon.

I should just make a new thread but I wanted to thank Lucas for all his help on the Eclipse drag car. As many know we have been fighting rediculous transmission and clutch issues (including 1 blown up Magnus dogbox and RPS CC) and he not only built me a really good stock trans, he installed it for me as well while I was out helping Paul! The car is already shifting much better and with a few adjustments to the clutch it will hopefully be getting close to where we need it and we can start turning the power up. Unfortunately the old Venom intake manifold that has been on it forever decided to split on every seam it has last night so it cut our fun short.

Im suprised the Venom intake held on as long as it did. I know you guys had the revised edition, but I still remember stories of guys running them with a lot less power and splitting welds every pass.

Yeah, I hate that thing but hard to spend money to replace something that was working ok (especially considering HP has not been the main problem with the car). Now a good excuse to get something better!

Yup, on Monday. It will be time for the weekly 'prodding' for our dogbox back anyway!
