PR renovation

135 million dollar facility. (gross) Just hope they manage to keep the road course open through it all.
I don't understand the tri oval for nascar, do those guys go up and down hills too? It takes a moment to spot the tri oval track, but it uses part of the road course, around turns 4, 6, 7, 2.
No info on general time frames.
Really takes the old SIR into the modern big "bizniss" era.

Interesting ... lets just hope they don't raise prices /close down the road course! NASCAR can go hug a tree for all that I care about it.

The road course is not going anywhere, in fact this means it will probably be improved on.
"FIA certification of the road course, capable of attracting NASCAR, IRL and CART racing events."
To get theh FIA cert they will have to do a lot of work with run offs, etc. They will hopefully pave the whole thing and turns 1 & 2 are getting a major redesign.
Other PIR news from the home page, the tv show PINKS will be taped there Sept 23.

haze , you have a point, the new facility will not come cheap.
The more I think about it the less it thrills me, oh don't get me wrong , I'd love to see the new track. Trouble is, I don't see them making the changes to corner 2 or adding the nascar track without closing down the road course. Lets face it, the three months a year you can do that kind of road work they are not going to close the construction down to let some guys run around the track.
A wild a** guess is three years before anything happens. One year with no road course another year with a limited course, They could keep a drag strip running easy enough.
So get it while you can, in twenty years you can talk about " I remember in the good old days"
Best case, Some one builds another complex in the Puget Sound area before the construction begins. Now That is Wishfull thinking.

Yeah They've had that up there for a while, I can't wait to see it done, If you look off to the right hand side when you're coming into the track, you can see the new dragstrip spot, it's 25 feet below elevation for noise supression.
