Test drove an Evo8

My cousin is sellin his stage 4 wrx after we blew the tranny, went out today and test drove G35/350z/Evo 8... Drove the evo 8 like it was stolen and was not impressed... It had some kind of auto slip clutch business that was absolute rubish, it kept trying to slip the clutch automaticly around corners in second, and was a ***** just getting off the line... Its the only evo i've driven to date, but what do all of you do to avoid this "Auto clutch slip business"
-Alex
I may just be without knowldge on the subject, but i was not impressed with its preformance... Handling was awesome, but the clutch thing ruined my day.

if it was an Evo 8, the clutch probably needs replaced. Many used Evos will need a clutch. You can't judge a car buy a worn out consumable item. Drive one with a good clutch.

It was an Evo 8... Had only 13k miles on it... The "Sales" man was saying that it does it automaticly... It was really wierd, felt like a automatic clutch the way it disingauged... Then i would gas it, it would drop 500 rpms, then knock me back... was really really wierd, didnt felt like it had dirrect throtle power, even in the powerband... Is this uncommon ? he was saying its common

yeah dude that's a bad clutch. My b.s. meter is pegged high on the sales pitch. He'll sell it to some unlucky participant.

Where did you test drive it at?

The Evo wasn't Stage 2.5 or 4 so that's why it wasn't running good
