HAHAHA About 15 minutes ago I had my Evo sideways down our driveway at work... well I kinda pulled the Ebrake at the top of the hill, and I tried testing the ABS theory, I just held the brake pedal down to the floor as the rear end came out and around... ABS is definately not the way to slow down in slick conditions, feathering the brake is the only way to get it to slow down.

Please keep it safe and invest in some winter tires. The stock Advans are the complete opposite of what a winter tire should be. Even cheap all-seasons would work better than the stock Advans in the snow. Advans are horrible for traction under 40F as they get extremely hard. It's like driving on 4 hockey pucks.

Ok, my Talon has some Eagle LS's that work about 50billion times better than the Advans. But it looks like a mess today out there also, so I'll just take the Talon...

Like Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's They even work quite well in the wet Seattle rain. Unlike the dry rain other parts of the country have No no, I don't have stock in the company. But with my 800 mile (one way) trip to Canada and back + 1400 additonal driving around miles, I can say they work splendidly on snow AND tarmac. They don't have the warm dry traction as the Advan A046 and they probably don't have the icey snow traction of Michelin 10/65-16 GA 63, but they are a pretty good balance

And yes, be safe. unless you're driving a military tank with studded treads, you don't have close to infinite traction. Though, you've got a LOT better grip than most automobiles out there

Look at this, I just so happened to have my video camera going while I slowly went through the stop sign...you can hear the ABS cycling. (boring to watch)

It happens when weather gets horrible. Hope no one has gotten into an accident over the past few days.

Not yet, but I just wish all these people would get out of the way and stop driving on my road. I'm falling asleep here. Git git git...

It's an absolute blast to drive when no one's on the road when it's snowing. Oh man doing the speed limit on the freeway was never that fun.

But I heard the highways were in excellent condition. It was just all the side roads that had problems, no? I was sleeping by midnight.

Wait, wasn't that a stop sign that slid past you? With a little over steer around that first corner?

It was snowing pretty hard around that time when I was driving. Layer of snow everywhere.
