Arrow January Drive - Snow Flake Special

I'd like to invite the area Evos along for group drive. I've been organizing events on RX8club for serveral months, all with great turn out. For December we had the Sports Car Formal and invited several other forums along. Unfortunately, I hadn't found this one yet. We're planning the Snow Flake Special for January right now, and would love to have you guys along. And of course, we welcome any input as far roads go.

The details we have so far are posted at http://www.the-winding-road.com/grou...nw20070128.php

Sounds like a good time. From one end of Lake Washington to the other but we're taking the back country roads? Looks like I'll have to take a close look at a road map.

We could go from Rainier Ave to Lake Washington Blvd to Sand Point Way to Juanita Dr to Market St to Lake St to 405 and exit 9 to Park Ave and end at Maple Valley Road. Looks like the Renton Historical Museum would be a good starting point as it can also has a pretty straight path to Rainier Ave.

Excellent, I'll add you both the list. We'll definitely be taking some photos. The route is still undetermined, but I've a few roads scouted out all ready, have leads on some others. Let me know if you have some specific stuff you want to run on this one.

Honestly I would love to have a drive up to Snoqualmie Falls although you RWD guys do have a traction disadvantage if there is snow on the roads. I love the serene nature of I-90 and the amazing scenery of the falls area. It would be wonderful if we could somehow fit all of our cars into a picture with the waterfall in the background.

Those are all wonderful roads, and we'll definately be doing them again later in the year (we just did some of that in August). For this, we're going for a closer-to-home event. I've the route pretty much figured out now, and will spend a good chunk of time writing it up tomorrow. Fingers cross, I'll be able to figure out the connecting bits between the good roads and have it all ready to go tomorrow. If not, it'll be Friday.

BTW, does your suggestion of roads indicate you're planning to join us. The more the merrier.

All right, after much exploring followed by map studying to get the road names right, the route is finally done. It's a complex one, so study up.

And if that's not exciting enough, we now have more than 30 cars registered for this drive. We'll have to figure something out to prevent cars getting separated from the group, and to avoid drawing too much attention.

Interesting that the cruise will be on E Mercer Way, I was just there last weekend and filmed this in car view:

The speed is 2000%, so it takes about 1 minute to drive through it.
quality is not so good, youtube doesn't like big files.
