As you all know Guru has been the man organizing this sweet deal through VIS. Vince endured 6 weeks of phone tag and hard negotiations with our unreliable contact Grant at VIS at which they have only been able to produced one hood. The very hood on his car you've all come be to infatuated with. What started out as simple 5 hood group buy for SCLC members looked promising enough the first week as it instantly vaporized the following. The day Vince and I rented a truck and drove 2 hours through teeth grinding traffic to pick up 4 hoods only to find out that all our efforts were for nothing as we came home with only one. Countless excuses from our contact quickly turned into a pile of steaming BS. We jumped the gun a bit when we decided to organize this group buy as an effort to help out fellow Evom members. Sadly, all is not well as this group buy is basically vaporized into nothing. You can thank Grant and VIS for this huge debacle. As it turns out, VIS has a nasty record on the BBB website which really irks me as I should've checked there earlier and could've avoided this hell hole of a deal. perhaps I should've thought twice when we saw for the first time the hole in the wall that VIS called a business. Vince has been a trooper and his efforts should not go unnoticed as he is one of the few Lancer enthusiats who is actually dedicated to the club(SCLC) and this forum. But all is not lost as the Guru and I are currently talking to other potential vendors in hopes to secure a more reliable dealer. Stay tuned.

Well all sorry to say but everything that he said is correct. We have been hearing week after week "The containers are coming in, let us unload then we will have your hoods" Well i can wait 1 maybe 2 weeks but 4 is getting to be rediculous. I am sorry but I am refusing to do business with VIS as they are unreliable and I will not let this go on my conciense and reputation. If you still want the hood I will help you get it but I will have nothing to do with the support or endorsement of VIS. You are buying these parts as is with no warrenty (as they post on about anything you read from them).

Yes it is a good looking hood and I love it but please keep me out of this as I do not want all of you mad at me if you order and it blows up.

 

Guys I can do a group buy on the genesis carbon fiber hood and it would help alot on the price and the goods are in stock !! Let me know. I'm really sorry that this didn't work out abd I would be delighted to help out with very little profit. Ghost (jon) can vouch for me and we all know Calvin won't go below $600 per hood. I work with Calvin on a wholesale level and will cut my profits to help out if you all like this hood. Let me know guys ! Thanks and again, sorry it didn't happen the way you wanted it to. I've heard alot of bad things about VIS. This is why I have never done business with them.

 

Can you show pics of the Genesis hood? If it's one of Calvin's, I'm personally not interested because I want the exact hood guru_del has. I don't want an evo style. I want an evo 7 hood - vents, not holes; over the engine and the filter element.

 

it is Calvin's lancer hood. Just let me know guys and i'll help. If you don't like it , no problem. To each his own !! But keep me in mind if you can't find an EvoVII hood and need a cf hood fix !

 

another company is coming out with a hood that will look similar. i am working with them now but thanks for your attempt to fill the void.
