The size of your bike you pick shouldn't be determined on your body weight, just self control of the throttle. You can kill yourself just as fast on a 600cc bike as you can a 1000cc.

Seriously Kris, if you never rode before, get a ninja 250 or something simular. Many people feel they are fast and great beginner bikes. I've heard to many bad stories of people getting on 1000cc's and ending up in the hospital because they arn't used to the throttle and clutch control. Start out with a 600cc at most if you never ridden before and take classes before you get on it.. I've ridden b4 so I'm not to shabby. Take my advice, get a 250 bike first, most people on the Pacific Northwest Rider's Forum love 250 cc bikes, they are really fun. Outta respect and care for you bro, don't start on a 1000cc bike.. even a 600 might be to much if you're not expecting it.

 

Its funny when people go buy brand new bikes thinking they can ride them no problem. They end of crashing, laying it down, or trying to sell it.
