June Dyno Day
Dyno Day
Ok, so I am going to be setting up a Dyno day some time in early to mid June and want to gather a list of those who want to participate. JB will be on hand for those needing a custom tune. The dyno will be a brand new state of the art Dyno Dynamics. Once I get the ok that it will be installed and up and running I will set a date. This meet will be located in Kent. Please let me know if you will be needing a tune as well so we can get a head count for that too
update: a new date will need to be set due to conflict in schedules, new date tba asap

And the AEM UEGO.
Put me down as tentative. The date you set will really decide it for me. I won't need a tune from JB...CodgiSpec or bust
.
BTW how is this day going to work? Just one pull or do you get a couple of them?

not much. Dyno dynamics & mustang are pretty equal in the "heartbreaker" side of things.
I'll probably be down to see what the talon does in mid june duggy, i'll have to let you know in a bit.

Ok, so we will be getting more than 1 pull. I assume at least 3 or 4 pulls in all.
I will let JB post in here or pm you for how much he is going to charge for the tune. do believe he has good rates and will be cheaper than most since he is local

As far as wideband I believe the dyno will have a sniffer (and it will be new so it should be good) that will log with the pull. If you are buying a WB make sure to get something that is loggable (as you already covered) and get the serial/USB adapter so that we can log. I guess all the Pr0n on my computer is gonna have to go away for the weekend :drat:
...and for Codgi and others, I know the pride of tuning it yourself but I will also be available for advice on a case by case basis as well as offering my tunes obviously.
edit (remembered some things)-
I strongly suggest the following pre dyno day as well:
A good boost gauge never hurts (factory gauges dont count, but you can get some pics of it pegging)
Either removing the restrictor pill nearest the BCS or a MBC before the dyno day. Please do not remove this and run full boost without a tune however it will pop.
Have your car aligned beforehand to make sure that the tires are in fact pointing dead ahead if you havent had it done recently.
Double check all your clamps and make sure that you have no BOOST LEAKS.

Make sure you have fresh oil/tranny fluid/ rear diff/ center diff if you're very close to the fluids change interval.
New plugs are a good investment before a dyno tune unless your car is pretty new <10K miles.
Take off the middle part of the undertray to make sure the dyno facility can access all hold down points to make you getting on the dyno as pain-free as possible.
If you have an aftermarket exhaust, make sure there is clearance between the tip and the bumper because I've seen mufflers making contact with the bumper and burning them.
If any of you guys have meth injection, please make sure it's operating properly before the dyno day. Trying to pinpoint and fix problems during the day of the dyno tune is extremely stressful and you may end up breaking things more than fixing them.
Long story short, make sure your car is running in TIP TOP shape to make JB's life easier if you're getting a custom tune by him. It's extremely frustrating when he can't get the car dialed in and he has to play doctor and diagnose all the problems the car may be having.
I think that's it, just throwing it up there for my fellow Evo guys.

I'm a wideband n00b. Those would be innovative, PLX, & zeitronix?
