This is a question to powers that be about the friday night meets, and I hope that I am not overstepping anyone or trying to take position away from anyone. But last friday while everyone was at the track, I hung with a few members, John and Frankie to be exact. We got to idle chit chat and kinda wondered if there was a place we could hang out and meet up that we wouldn't get kicked out of by Tacoma's finest. Somehwere we could spend an extended period of time that would give members time to show up, being that we all can't make it at the same time. And importantly, a place that isn't overcrowded by a bunch of broke *** wannabe street racers. Not everyone, but a good amount of them.

This is just a thought, if it too out there, please shoot it down before it flies. Not too sure where everyone is from, Tacoma is a big city, maybe puyallup, don't know. I plan to hang no matter, just didn't didn't know what others thought??

 

Lol, it does suck when they show up and kick everyone out. But it's even more hilarious watching some of the people run and scatter like roaches when the lights come one. It's like ok, I'm not doing anything illegal, so I just calmly walk to my car and leave. But anyway, I think that's kinda why the regular friday night meets start at 8pm, cause by around 10pm is when everyone gets kicked out.

We did try going to KK in Puyallup, but got kicked out by the cops there. It was funny though that they were cool about it and even told us where we could go without getting kicked out. But unfortunately the store parking lot we went to we were still driven out by a rent-a-cop.

So, alas it seems like we're screwed were ever we end up going lol.

the walmart parking lot is usually always empty...and its 24/7. or theres the YMCA parking lot but like i said, puyallup sucks with cops!

how about southcenter mall parking lot? That's a huge spot....but then if there's 10-20 evos rolling, I'm sure you'll catch security's eyes...

 

Why not find a place that sells food, that way if you buy something, you have the right to be hanging out. Something like Frisko Freeze, but with a bigger parking lot.

Or, what about PT Defiance? There is plenty of paring there. But I can't see us there past 10pm.

 

What about portland? Oh yeah, everyone in p-town seems to have no sense of community... What's with all the busters in evos around here that don't acknowlege a fellow evo owner?

 

I never see anyone here in Spokane either! They also never wanna do any meets!

 

in tacoma, we used to hang out at Area 151, but just like KK, there were ricer idiots trying to race so then the owner got mad and said we can no longer come there. the thing is though, that owner left like long time ago. i went by last weekend, and no one was there. its a Club parking lot, but that is a very dead club. i mean, if we can talk to the owner and give him some kind of business...then im pretty sure that he wouldnt mind letting us use his empty parking lot. So all u 21+ ppl go talk to him and say that if he lets us park there then u guys will buy drinks, or something. the cops cant bother us then cus its a club parking lot and they cant kick us out cus we can just say we are coming to the club. just a thought

the location of Area 151 is a good location. I mean, its right on South Tacoma Way. Under a huge bridge. Might attract idiots

 

or in Downtown Tacoma, city center exit. the old 240 club used to hang out there, if u go on the highway of city center, take the firs exit, and go under that big bridge, there is a little parking place...its a construction site and no one is ever out there. no cops, cus its practically ports and constructions. its hidden and secluded so unless u know where it is, and how to get there, u wont know. We used to call it little paris (the city)

What is the name of the bar on Boat street? That has a WEARHOUSE! parking lot, so it's inside, on the water. The food is ok, best of all, it's right off Schuster parkway, about 1mi from the freeway.

 

I agree, a business would be our best bet. I was almost thinkning a shop or something along those lines. As long as its private property and we are doing nothing illegal, they can't say anything. As long as it's cool with you guys I will try to think of a few places. I really wish I still had my shop space in tacoma. 6TH and St. Helens, its an old classic car dealership and the service dept. below rented out spots to work on cars. We used to have huge BBQ's there, burnouts and all kinds of stuff till like 2 in the morning and I dont think I remember the cops showing up ever.

The only idea I would like to shoot down is southcenter. The main reason being, its way too close to kent and all the street racers, if they still hang out there. Cops would have a hay day with us, or even just for harassment. I think the majority of us are further south, not to discourage anyone from showing.

If all else fails, see you all at the KK on friday till otherwise.

 

I couldn't agree more on this, most of the evo's I see just think their badass or something....everytime I wave, they just ignore me and blow the blowoff and drive like dicks...
And people wonder why the evo people gets bad names
