IC Piping question

My engine is bone stock other than a CB exhaust and a JB engine tune. Do IC pipes make a noticable difference? Been debating whether or not to go to metal ones, and I'd imagine it would reduce spool time, but is it worth $500 with a stock turbo/IC?

LICP makes a significant difference since it removes a bottle neck in the system. The upper pipe helps but nowhere near as much as the LICP does.

If you do get an UICP get one that is shorter than the stock. The ones that are the same length as the stock one don't do much. Of course very few of the shorter ones work with the stock battery (Nisei and ETS come to mind. Nisei will need a minor mod to the air box if you still need it and ETS won't work with the stock air box at all).
