World One Performance comes through for me.
World One Performance comes through for me.
Alright, so I know several weeks ago I posted a bulletin asking for advice on carbon fiber hoods.
I did settle with Seibon finally, and commenced the process of getting a hood. Timing was awful, as my insurance didn't authorize repairs on my car until Thursday, the week before SEMA.
I called World One initially, because I heard great things about them, and they had a really good price on the OEM hood. They tried, but couldn't get Seibon to ship on that Friday because they were getting ready for SEMA.
I called another local shop, which I shall not include their name; and told them that they would have to get it from a warehouse and NOT from Seibon direct. They called around, and called me back stating that they had found a warehouse that had it in stock, and would ship it that day (Friday). My car was due to be done on 11/2, the very next Friday; and with it going out that day, it would be received NLT the following Wednesday. The hood was going to cost me about $75 more, but I didn't care, because I needed it before the 2nd, which was the last day of SEMA.
Monday, the week of the 2nd, this shop calls me and tells me that the warehouse lied, and that they were going to try and get Seibon to ship it; which was really frustrating, because I had been so specific in telling them that Seibon was not going to be in all week and would be at SEMA. The hood wouldn't get shipped until the Monday following the 2nd; which totally sucked. So when I asked HOW it would be shipped, they flat out said normal shipping. Now in my mind, if I go through so much trouble and detail to explain things out for the merchant and they still make a mistake, then proper customer service states they should remedy it in someway. My preference would've been perhaps a faster shipping method, maybe a discount for the trouble; but I got offered nothing like that at all.
So I of course cancel the order, because I was going to have to pay them more money and now I was at the same timeframe as World One. So I went to visit Garrett (because I actually was in Seattle on this day) and talked to him about the whole ordeal. He offered to ship me the hood 2 day through a shipping company he used, and that I would have it by Wednesday. Considering this was the best I could come up with, I took it. Considering I was already having so much trouble with this whole hood order, he was willing to negotiate price with me, and when I walked out of their shop I felt a whole lot better about the whole situation.
So, Monday after SEMA rolls around and Seibon receives their shipment of hoods in two crates. I'm unable to get ahold of anyone to verify that everything is going according to plan, which had me on Edge. Tuesday, I speak with Johan at World One, and another problem. They received 4 hoods in my style. I was order #4, and #4 out of the box was damaged. So, next order of the OEM style will be a week away. I couldn't wait that long. World One to the rescue again; they shipped me another hood I was interested in at no extra charge, because of all the issues; even though the issues were not in their control.
I had some more issues, but nothing to do with World One, but once I finally did receive the hood; it was awesome. I ended up going with the Seibon CW style hood; the fitment is pretty good considering its aftermarket.
Long forum post short, I wanted to write out about how even through all the frustration, World One made every attempt to make things as best as they could, even when it was out of their realm of control.
Thanks again to Garrett and Johan and Jonathan for everything, I really appreciate it!

I'm doin my engine and turbo build there - definately an a-grade group of people -
Whatever type of car you drive, W1 will do their best to get you what you need. Shoot - If there is any issue, they resolve it - as quickly as possible.
