It doesn't have to be canned goods. I'm sorry they just have to be Non perishable food items.

Here is a list I found on a red cross site.

Here are some suggestions of canned and dry goods that are nutritious and easy to use:
(asks that you avoid items in glass as they often break in transit.) Thank You!

Tuna Fish or other canned fish or meat
Beef Stew, Meat Soups
Hearty Soups
Canned Spaghetti or Pasta
Chili
Beans (kidney, pinto, green, yellow, refried or black beans)
Baby Food or Formula
Ensure or other nutritional supplement drinks

Rice
Dry Beans
Noodles, Macaroni
Powdered Milk
Pancake or Baking Mixes
Cereal/Oatmeal
Granola Bars
Peanut Butter
Jelly (in plastic jars)

Personal Care Items
Diapers
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Soap
Shampoo
Disposable Razors

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sorry I have to miss it because of the location, but have fun and be safe to everyone that attends.

I have added you to the list as well, The more the merrier. Should really help the cause.

Usually we have 40-60 cars, but the drive is usually longer and alot more spirited. This year its more about helping some people in need.

The drive that we usually do every year Starts in same location but travels west to raymond, then south to Rainbow falls state park, then South east to centrailia. Though somewhat windy back roads. Normal drive is about 3 hours and 125 miles.

That is why I said this drive is not as spirited and long. Its shorter, more traveled route alot a cities traveled through were speed is reduced. More Cruise type drive.

OLD ROUTE & NEW ROUTE:

The reason for the new route is because Rainbow Falls State park has had major Flood Damage.

After speaking to them several times they said it is very likely to be repaired by the time of our drive, Also that because of several construction projects scheduled in that area our drive may be unsuccessful and un wanted. Thats why we decided that instead of waiting and doing the drive in the summer (which we may do also) We could make the best of the situation and make a shorter drive and help out some people effected by the flood.

More to come, but i wanted to see the response from forums that have been invited in past years. Also the response of people who have went on the past drive and what they think of the shorter drive.
