Track Days: 2008

So I won't be doing as many as I did last year. Last year was a banner year for me...I guess I did 9 or 10..something like that. Most of the days later in the year end up being during the week. My schedule won't be that flexible this year. With that said a few of use will be at PIR March 14th and 15th (14th is ground school for novices). It would be nice to see more then 1 or 2 evos out there. I know there are some guys with 10s...drive a lot, break them in, I did my first HPDE in the evo in 2006 with 700 miles.

Here are a couple of my better videos from last year:
My evo is totally stock engine IX, 255 RA1s, 25mm sway, MR suspension with Espelir GT Springs.

Chasing a race car on hoosiers. It obviously has me in power to weight! These were some of my fastest laps of the day.
Evo IX is stock engine with Evo MR suspension, RA1s. Porsche is some kind of race car on Hoosiers. It is obviously faster in the straights, but I make up some time. It's an HPDE.

Chasing a super charged E36/8 M coupe on hoosiers. This was earlier same day. I was a little slower. Takes some time to get up to speed.
Stock engine evo chasing Super Charged BMW M coupe at Portland International Raceway (PIR). He's on Hoosiers and I'm on RA1s. Porsche Club HPDE (Drivers Event DE).
*I catch him passing 3 wide on tape and getting a black flag..ooops!

I haven't don't PR before. I would like too. I have done a few tracks in texas when I lived there, but have only done PIR in oregon and nothing in WA. I am hoping to make it to PR this year, but it's gotta be a weekend track day. I'm doing the Ariel Atom experience in May at PIR. That should be cool. I will post those videos up too. Hopefully, I don't crash.

Both videos are porsche club. Same day, just a session apart. I broke some wheels studs and had to call it a day. I used the wrong lug nutz on my after market wheels and it busted up my stock studs. I have some big, strong aftermarket ones.

I have a set of enkei nt 03s that came with special lug nuts to run front spacers. I just hope they will be strong enough. I just dont want to take off the front brakes and rotors right now (no time)
