Vortex Generator install help...

Vortex Generator install help...
I found the DIY on how to install the vortex generator but there isnt any written instruction on what they did... Any of you guys installed these on your evo? It looks pretty simple but when i put the double sided 3m tape on the underside of the VG it doesnt look like it is going to come in contact with the roof.
Any help or tips would be great, thanks in advance.

Which instructions are you following? I assume this is either 2nd hand or not the OEM piece since you had to add 3m tape to it?
I put the OEM one on mine in 2005 and that came with the tape and two plastic tabs for the tape. You pulled the tabs to reveal the tape and pressed down all the way across.
