What's up fellas! Just wanted to post up the next HPDE event that you can sign up for. The school is hosted by Team Continental at Portland International Raceways and it's a great way to learn to drive your car at speeds. I've been going to these for a couple years now and it is always a blast! I'll temp you guys with a few pics and hopefully get some Evos out there. Cost is like $175 for the day and you get an instructor who will teach you the lines and how to be smooth. You get to run several sessions in one day. Anyone with questions, ask away or send me a PM.

Hope you two Evo guys had fun and it was nice to see you two again!!! How did you guys do in your sessions? I didn't get a chance to watch you guys. I had to bleed brakes and fill up gas in between sessions so I missed all the group 2 action.
I had a blast! Need new front brakes and a new short throw shifter. Shifter broke after the last session.

Doh on broken parts! Had a blast, each session I passed about 15 cars out of 22 in our group and lapped a few
My car didn't miss a beat, the only thing that went wrong all day was I lost a center cap I'm assuming on one of the gators so I'm pretty stoked. I wish the EVO group would represent like the SRT-4 crew, you guys are always out in force!

Maybe next year I'll bring my RS out for some fun. Stock suspension and stock clutch, and nearly stock power. It's not going to be much fun and I'd likely get my *** handed to me. But I'm down to swap sides to represent the Evos.
I can confidently say no one hands me my *** out there

I run on stock suspension (Well MR Bilstiens) and a hodgekis rear sway bar, stock clutch, and only a FMIC, LICP, and a JB tune. (And a fu** load of brakes) oh, and this last trip was on stock Advan A046's

No vettes, porsches, nada.

to the OP: The hand position in that video you post is not good. In turn 7 the dude's hands are at like 11 and 1. Put them at 9-3..wtf. Instructor should be kickin that dude in the nutz. If it's you, sorry, but that's a big no-no.

I was there with his group. Most of the instructors are not really helping much, so I requested the one I liked the most and sticking with him since he is the only one really being helpful.
I can tell you that I'll be in group 3 next time so I will get my *** handed soon or later. I'm not the greatest driver out there
He wasn't slow

This is the old config. Unfortunately, I won't be doing any track days this year. Too much work.

I was kind of joking about "no video. you slow." but a lot of people claim ridiculous times and mphs at PIR with no video to back it up.
But, that hand positions in that video were not good. I mean that's basic stuff.

Group 3 isn't always fast. A lot of guys in group 3 didn't turn faster then 1:36 in GT3s, cup cars, vettes, etc. My stock engine evo on oem suspension, with sway bar and RA1s was turning 1:29's (with chicane, without is 8-10 secs faster, in my experience). F430s in my group (group 3 PCA club) last year were driving 7 secs slower. It's amazing how slow people can drive fast cars.

I was seeing that vid a while back. You had your eye on that Porche!
Well either way it'll be fun to drive with "more aggresive" drivers. I can definitely learn from them.
I agree on your quote. I've heard some people stating that they are hitting like 135-140 mph before the chicane....I give them benefit of doubt but that's awfully fast in any car(The fastest I've hit was 125 at 500 mark)
That's a video from the car behind me. I'm in the silver srt right in front of the camera. Yeah, Anthony (driver in the video) has been instructed to release the death grip.On a side note, the stock suspension on the Evo 8 RS is not that great. I am however comparing my KW setup on the srt and adjustable sways and rear control arms though. So not a fair comparison.
