This is a good example of why having a real tach pick up on a Dyno Jet is better then a set RPM by the operator. TQ is calculated by a mathematical calculation of 5250rpm so in the DD you can tell it must be set close to a 1000rpm low and that is causing a crazy untrue TQ #.

To set the RPM on a DD you hold the car at a set RPM and tell the dyno what the RPM is. While this is fast and easy it allows for operator error and tach Errors. When I was on the Last DD with our 620whp 1g I was holding the Tach at 3k but the car was really only 2850rpm (via the logger) This would make for a higher untrue TQ #.

True. But by knowing that you you adjust the calculation by 5% and get your "real" hp and tq.
